My Office/Prop Room/Museum......Pics!!!

Took about a month for prepping and building. The wings take the vast majority of the time if you do the hero wings with koolshade like I did. Otherwise this thing could be finished in a week. The painting was done in one afternoon. I lucked up and found two colors I liked right out of the bottles. No mixing etc. One was a testors model master light gray and the other was a Tamiya light gray. Both acrylic and both were painted over Tamiya white primer. The black was Tamiya flat black. Now I just need to find the right amber LEDs for the cannons and light it up. I still have to paint the pilot and get him seated and then try to scratch out a cockpit interior.

Very impressive office display. You chose a good mix and color scheme for the office.

Now, being the Vader fan that I am, you only need a Vader Tie Fighter to go with the mix of other ships. :)

Thanks gents, The Vader TIE is definitely on the horizon. The Helmet is a TD helmet. The Dome was from a separate source. Both facemask and Dome are the most accurate ones ever offered. Neither are to ever be offered again. I consider myself very fortunate. The Paint scheme has as much to do with the authentic look as the helmet itself. It has to be done a specific way or the look is just plain "off".

Serious question: you have MR props with the acrylic cases off, uncovered models, cloth costumes dragging on the floor...how do you approach dusting? All the dust on the Emperor's cloak, on the helmets, settling into the nooks of the ships, that'll start to look like hell...may I ask what your scheme is for keeping things clean?

Dentist, eh? I went into education.

Damn it.

Cayman, I take about an hour per month and use a vacuum with soft attachment to dust the models. Some of the more detailed ones will ultimately get a dome to cover. I do the same on the costumes, vacuum the dust catching areas. Works like a charm. You just have to be very careful when vacuuming the SS models as the detail bits might disappear into the black hole.......LOL. I have some specialized tips for cleaning electronics that work well........cuts the volume down on the suction and is small and soft for those hard to get to areas. Just takes patience and practice.

Since it's my business, we do have a cleaning service, but the only thing I allow them to touch in my office is vacuuming the floor..........LOL I can just see half the greeblies missing on the SD and we can't have that!!!

Don't let them touch the SD!!!

TIE looks great...although it looks precariously balanced on your deck railing...:eek

Thanks Kev, I did add the cannon LEDs and the panavise connector last night, so it's sitting securely on my stand at the moment. I was very nervous taking those pics as I could just see it falling 5 ft to the brick patio below. That would have pretty much ruined my day.......LOL
