My Mad Hatter Thread - Mickey's Trick Or Treat 10-29-2010

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Hat tweaking

Jodo, I want to see all your hatter costume and all your jack costume parts together as one outfit.....and then whatever you don't have (i.e. pants) - fill it in with Joker stuff....

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

You can also see that Mr. Right has a few added graphics towards the middle of the shoe on the inside. Appears to be a devil of some sort?

THAT, My friend, is the Alchemical sign for Mercury.

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

hope this helps.

all the best

P.S.

also my initial hunch was right the the toe tips are leather
and not metal.
what led me to believe this from the beginning was the tooling
also known as a veiner tool.

Like I said from the beginning, the boots say "downal with bluddy behg Hid"
I was just completely unaware of the exact location of the words.

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

THAT, My friend, is the Alchemical sign for Mercury.

That is INSANE! What an amazing little detail to hide in there! I LOVE IT!

I wish Travis didn't love his boots so much to where he won't let me destroy them...I think he was actually offended when he noticed the etchings on screen. He shouted " HE RUINED MY BOOTS! ". @_@ IIIIIiiii think they just have more ... character! lol

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Hat tweaking

So what in the world does Hatter have attached to his pocket watch chain? It is about 1 x 1 inch in size and is silver!!! :confused

I have tried numerous screen grabs and sought out movie promo pics like this one but the scene moves too fast!!! Anyone see the prop anywhere?

It is all I need to finish this bloody prop!!!!:love:love

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

Looks like....ANOTHER toggle clasp. :confused

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

:rolleyes :confusedsigh....The other hanging silver thing. It is slightly to the left of the watch. :confused

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

I wouldn't be surprised if it's another, smaller pocket watch. Perhaps one that tells time backwards...or in Outlandish... :lol

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

Actually it is a Toggle clasp
they use to go on watch chains so you can put it through a button hole so the chain wouldnt fall out
and so you wouldnt lose or drop your watch

her are a few examples

as you can see it was very common
they would also put a small charm that was usually a crest or small badge called a
"Fob"
(as you can see in one of the links)

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

Padawan, the toggle is pretty clear :lol He meant the other round silver thing that isn't a toggle to the LEFT of the actual pocket watch...the thing that looks like another smaller pocketwatch. :D

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

Let's just say........AHEM..........that the screengrabs I did from the.........AHEM...movie show a charm of some sort. I looked through over 100 different types of charms. Found a nice sterlilng silver teapot I could use but now I am looking for SA!!! It is a disease!!!

But I still can't make out what the :eekBLUDDY TING IZ!!!:eek Oops! Sorry!

Here is a blown up picture zoomed way in!

CJS, I have some more caps for you! Sit tight...uploading now!

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

LOL That's hardly what I would call sitting tight but here's what I got:

watch.jpg

Definitely a round, maybe 3mm thick circle ... an embossed circle on one side...the other side looks...actually kinda looks like a clock face. LOL Looks to be mid chain, so probably just something decorative...

...

Sorry, I don't think that was really helpful. :lol

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

SCURVY MATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome aboard! Time for TEAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

I am thinking it is some sort of shield? Maybe Celtic?

Thanks aelynn...those pictures look REALLY familiar!!! IMAGINE...that!

Pewter tea bag? Real pieces of eight?

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

I think just a charm...the chain attaches at both ends. I have no idea if that kind of medallion...ish...charm...thing...has a name for being mid-chain.

HAHA!!

It DOES look like a piece of eight!!!

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - W.I.P. Pocket Watch Prop

i mentioned that actually
i said that they commonly had what was called a Fob
its a small pendant like a crest or badge, could even be a locket or a pedant with his initials on it

from what i know is its flat, so it cant be another watch
see
Picture1.png

Picture2.png

(sorry the pictures are so small, you can try to enlarge them)

since you only just barely see it once and never see it again
i say it lets us play with our imaginations and we can have some fun with our own personal tick
