My Mad Hatter Thread - Mickey's Trick Or Treat 10-29-2010

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Ha Ha! My first gig coming up as MH in three weeks...Well not a paid gig cuz I don't do that!

A friends 4 year old daughter is having a birthday party with guess what...Tea Time!! I need to clear it with her first! Don't want to make her 4th birthday tragic!! A bunch of 4 year olds running away in terror when the Hatter shows up?

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

once again... proving yourself to be one of the "heavy hitters" of costuming, soon you can quit your day job - ha ha.

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Thanks to me wifey for putting up with this costuming nightmare!!!!!

Kudos to Gelfling Gal for her stay over that night. She and I were the 1:30am quilting club!! The coat is a W.I.P. and she is going to simply improve on what was created. OCD is strong in this one! Also the Sewing 101 lesson at 7:30AM!!! I can actually sew now!!!!!

Kudos to Sith Camaro. Outstanding job on the tie! The best one out there or should I say the ONLY one out there! Also the tips and tricks. The 3:00am viddie on how to tie a tie! That is truly helpful mate!!!!

Kudos to RedSleighDon aka Charlie 2.0 who allowed me to move up a notch on the wait list to get my tie! I owe you $2000.00, a bandoleer, and ribbons!

Kudos to ACME as well for his helpful tips and hints. I hope you have a bird patch for me somewhere!

(Shudder! ACME and Sith Camaro in the same post! In my book mates you are both extremely talented and there is no competition! You both have excellent skills and are ranked both number 1 in my eyes for your talents! I think Richard and Toby or Toby and Richard know this!!)

Kudos to every JoAnns and Michaels in the southern California area! I was asked to stop in at each one that helped me with material ideas and buttons. Now I have to dress up and tour each store! That should be fun!

Daggum! I already have a list of things to fix, improve. I already found wooden spools! I just dread the thought of respooling all that thread!!!!!!

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Awesome!
Curious, did you get a chance to take an isolated pic of the scale chart?

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Daggum!

Kudos to NickyTea for all his HI RES photos that he happily gave away without any expectations. You rock mate and hope we can get you back into MH soon!!!!:thumbsup

Now onto your scale questions....what is this you refer too? :confused

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Buggah! Now I know what you mean!!!

We were being shuffled through at a fast pace. I will be returning to the El Cap soon for another viewing and more photos!

This is the best I got. With the way the swords were placed in the display it was hard to get a good shot. I will review the angles again when we go. We probably won't be shuffled through as quickly as the movie will have been out awhile.

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Fantastic, thanks!
And for the record, I only posted a few choice close ups here. The entirety of my pics were only sent off to a few Hatters. Happy to help when I can.

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

what the....the red queen is supposed to be 6"9 ?? ROFL :lol that doesn't make any sense!! When she meets Mirana on the chessboard, Mirana is taller...and Alice is almost the same height as Mirana...wtf!? Is everyone giants in Wonderland? :lol And by that scale, her hair is 9 inches tall at the center? o_O

CJS, AMAZING JOB! :D You looked fabulous. Good job to you and everyone and everyplace that helped you put together that fantastic costume. I can totally relate to the rushed makeup, we didn't have nearly as much time as we needed either of the times we got Travis ready! LOL And I LOVE those tweedles! HILARIOUS! :lol

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Strange but here it is anyway! Movie questions! Possible spoilers so I will generically phrase them.

1. What did Mad Hatter throw at Gnave of Hearts when he attempted do something to the Queen of Hearts at the end of the movie? He pulled it out and threw it like a ninja star!

2. What did Mad Hatter whisper into Alice's ear before she woke up? I just didn't hear it since it went by so fast and the wifey asked me at the moment "What did he say?"

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

1. A hat pin.

2. "Fairfarren" Which means, "fairwell" or ""May you travel far under
fair skies."

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

Are you sure it was a hat pin nickytea?

It looked a bit more bulky and gold. Something similar to this perhaps?

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

The "stem" seemed a little long to be scissors, to me, but I suppose it could have been.
Looks to me like he has scissors on the pack, but throw something else. Have to check again next time I see it on the big screen.

Re: My Mad Hatter Thread - El Capitan Theater 03-06-10

It may have been one of these as shown on the hero costume. But he pulled it out of his right pocket and threw it with his right hand!

hope this helps.

all the best
ACME

P.S.

also my initial hunch was right the the toe tips are leather
and not metal.
what led me to believe this from the beginning was the tooling
also known as a veiner tool.
