My Heavily Modded MR CE Stormtrooper Lid

Thought I would share this. Started out with the UK exclusive Stormtrooper Lid. Disassembled it. Cut out a LOT of plastic tabs out of it and brought the front and back flush and epoxied/screwed together. The cap was a separate piece but epoxied it to the back. bondoed and smoothed it making it one piece. Filled in the frown gap, enlarged the teeth and removed the mold lines. discarded the stock lenses to be replaced by Hero Bubble lenses as this will be an ANH hero lid. Ear 'slots' puttied in and and sanded flush. Ears replaced with Vac'd 'hero' ears. Primed with Krylon white primer and sanded with 220, 320, 600 and 1000...repeated...repeated...repeated.
Hovi mic tips are temps as I have ones with speakers wired in on the way. Waiting on ANH stickers and knee pads from UK to use as helmet pads and Ill finish her up. This is a LOT of work but th eresults are striking and makes for a bad a$$ trooper lid...not for the squeamish or novice. Enjoy.

Looking good.

I've been trying to find bubble lenses for my MRCE, but have not had any luck. Is there someone who makes them or do you have an extra set that you would like to sell?

Thanks,
Tony

Okay, thanks. I've seen FX lenses for sale on Ebay, but I didn't know if they would fit, but now that I do, I'll have to check them out.

yeah...you have to sand down the posts inside but they fit nice

Thanks again for the tip. As soon as I can get a set, I'm going to give it a try. I've always like the looks of the Hero Helmet best and since MR CE comes with the lowered brow, you can get away with making it a Hero.
