My GROOT wip

amazing. What did use use to "carve" all the lines to make it look like wood? Dremel or something else? Wanted to do this for my son for Halloween but it looks like it takes quite a while to get the technique down.

It really doesn't. Here's a quick "How I do it" from Jarman Props (click here for his FB link)

Been busy the past week. Just getting back at it. Working on the arms. Need to make sure I will have flexibility and able to move my arms.

Looking great so far! This post inspired me to start on my own Groot costume for Halloween, using most of the same techniques you have shown here.

What are you planning to do for the details on the "tube" parts? I'm always looking forward to your updates. Great work!

do you know the ratio for the glue to water?

Nope. I'm going to experiment :)

I want enough glue to stick but not enough to lose the flexibility of the tubes and tissue. May be 25% glue. That is what I did for a base coat for the paint and it worked great.

Both arms are finished.

Tested the bark to see if I have any holes to fill. A couple but nothing major.

Now starting the legs. These will be trickier I'm sure.
