Nice. How were the wood details added onto the foam?

I used a dremel with the sandpaper bits to carve the wood look into the foam.

The foam I used is EVA foam mats available in most stores like walmart. I paid $20 for 6 2x2 mats at Canadian Tire.



The thickness is half an inch.

I used the sandpaper whee on my dremel. Really easy. Wood doesn't have to look perfect to look like wood

Been busy the past week. Just getting back at it. Working on the arms. Need to make sure I will have flexibility and able to move my arms.

Tissue paper soaked in watered down glue will be applied to all the tubing to make it have a bark texture.

Nope. I'm going to experiment

I want enough glue to stick but not enough to lose the flexibility of the tubes and tissue. May be 25% glue. That is what I did for a base coat for the paint and it worked great.

Been very busy at work. Finally getting back to Groot.

Almost finished the first arm.

Both arms are finished.



Tested the bark to see if I have any holes to fill. A couple but nothing major.

Now starting the legs. These will be trickier I'm sure.
