Looking good Rusty! When I get my shell from Vince and my Thrower parts from Nick, I'll start my own build thread. I'm EXCITED!

Thanks! Its definitely been a fun experience. I've never built anything this involved before. I learned a lot of useful things. Still have to build a thrower too!

That is awesome! I really would love to build one of these but I have been told finding the original parts is almost impossible and that has always made me very hesitant to start a project of this magnitude.

Frankly, of all the costumes out there, this one is the most recognized and get the most reactions out of people when they see it. By far the best costume to have on Halloween.

That is awesome! I really would love to build one of these but I have been told finding the original parts is almost impossible and that has always made me very hesitant to start a project of this magnitude.

Well, it kind of just depends on what pack you're trying to make, GB1 or GB2.

I think the first pack is pretty hard to make, mainly because the Ribbon Cable's aren't around, but the second movie version is available all over. The second problem is the Legris Elbows. I paid about 70 bucks for mine, and they're made using different parts combined to look like the originals. I heard only 2-4 members on gbfans.com have the original 4mm ones. Everyone else has the 5/32, and those are even impossible to find. I lucked out on mine, thank god for Exoray, lol. The Legris straights are tough also, but there's plenty of subs for both, as long as you're not a stickler for accuracy.

Other than that not much else is that hard to find if you're persistant. But the original parts are expensive. I used mostly resin parts and I've got well over $700-$800.00 invested. I have a resin crank knob and saved myself like $30.00 there in that one instance.

I only have the V-Hook and Clippard left, and those two parts are going to cost about $80.00 from what I've seen.

Me, too. I took a resin crank knob, too... But I will order real Clippard Valves and some aluminium parts... I wanted to use a resin HGa, but now its ruined, because the holes Ive drilled look very ..... lets call it "not right"...

So, I need a new HGA, and I think i will use an aluminium one. I liked the fake welding lines, but it looks like the Aluminium HGA has no welding lines?!?

And I used a resin Bosster frame. the alu-frame looks awesome but $100 is a lot for it...

another problem are the screw. Here in germany I cant find the correct screw and if I order Us screws I cant use my tools with it. I cant buy new tools from the US like tap, drills, bits, etc...

Not so easy, I try to get some finished parts to save work and nerves...

Great pack, by the way... :thumbsup

I have the booster frame and the crank knob from him... But officially he dont sell them, I believe?!? also irrician offered me to throw in the corrext screws, but it it will take some time, till I have the money together for a big order... Dont want to order stuff in small waves... It costs only more shipping...

Thanks for the link, but I'm about 5 hours away from the nearest retailer. Guess I'll just have to order one online. I need to replace my Booster Frame eventually too. I've currently got one from MultiMediaMayhem.

Anyway, here's two new pics of my pack. Got bored, lol. I'm planning to get some Fuller's Earth to dust it up a bit.

We could trade... I take your pack, and you can make a better pack from my shell... :lol

Serious, man, this pack is awesome, I hope my pack will look like this when Im finished...

No, not yet... I have one on gbfans... But I wthink Im not far enough to make a thread over here... Just drilled some holes, screwed the Booster tube and crank knob to the shell... As I said, a lof of parts are still missing... Things like the PPD tube, filler tubes, injector arms, important things I need before I can paint the shell...

fantastic work mate, can't wait to see this with fuller's Earth on it. I hope my build goes as smooth as this

Looking good. nick-a-tron on gbfans is currently making superb booster frames. Might be worth taking a look if you don't already know about him!

I was going to suggest the same thing.
