My Full Review of the Baron Boutique David Tennant Suit - Lots of pics

Baron is very good about the fit as long as you know how to take your measurements and request the slim fit.

Yea, you'll want to be clear on that one, tell them the length you want and specify that they shouldn't change it to match your height, that's the length you want.

(first post on therpf.com)

I'm wondering, can anyone tell me about the funtionality of the Baron and Magnolia suits? Would they be good if you live in a place really really really cold (maybe with a bit of snow)?

jedibugs, how do you wash the suit? being that it's made of cotton, would it be okay to use the washer/dryer method or would dry cleaning be required?

Definitely Dry Clean. The outer fabric is cotton, but it's lined inside, so you definitely don't want it going in with your regular laundry.

I think they have a two-week turnaround, and then another week or two to get to you, depending on where you are. Not bad for a fully-tailored suit.

Has anyone bought the Blue and red striped suit? if so, how did it turn out? can someone post pics just as Jedi did?

I realize that this thread has been dead for quite a while, however, I plan on ordering the Baron cotton suit soon and was wondering if anyone has any tips pertaining to sizing... Any tips on measurements? I'd like to avoid going to a tailor as I'm strapped for cash (buying the suit [and the inexpensive one at that] is enough money spending for me).

I too would like to order a Baron Tenth Doctor Suit. Anyone else bought one directly from them recently? Are they still as decent as the original photos in the first post?
Will they have to be told to create the suit with the accurate features or have they altered their design permanently for every suit since?
Thanks

I have owned a Baron blue suit in their wool fabric, which was decent. The tailoring was good but the chest pocket was too small as far as screen accuracy goes. As far as measurements, I'd say definitely make sure you go to a local tailor and have him/her measure for you. I originally did my own measurements, and most were fine, however I made the mistake of measuring the armhole/armpit and sleeves too small, so the jacket was a bit tight on me (and I had quite a bit of difficulty putting the overcoat on over it as I couldn't really raise my arms above my head).

I actually recently purchased the Baron Suit and it fits very well just from measurements I took of myself at home.

Good to hear! I'm glad yours came out nicely. I think for mine, I just goofed a bit on a couple of my measurements so it was really my own fault that it came out the way it did. That's why I decided to have a tailor do my measurements for my next purchase :)

I know it has been a while since anyone has posted but a couple questions for anyone who has bought the suit from Baron or knows about it?
1. Does the printed on pinstripes fade at all?
2. Even though it was tailored do you still have to get alterations done to it?
3. IS IT WORTH IT?!?!?!

1. I had mine for a few years and they never faded.
2. Your mileage my vary. I didn't at first, but then decreased in mass.
3. I'd say it was worth it. But I upgraded mine to one with Magnoli fabric after a few years once I could afford it. I prefer the new one.

I'm going to reopen this thread again. Has anyone else bought a Baron's Tennant recently?
I bought one in 2011 and it was exactly as the one described in this thread. Due to illness I lost loads of weight last year so on-sold my suit as it was way too big.

Today a new one arrived. I'm less than enthused with the colours. The cut and fit is great once again. But the fabric is much less pronounced brown, almost a grey-brown and the blue... the blue is so bright it actually makes the suit look blue due to the brightness. This may simply be due to the washed out grey-brown. Anyone else experienced the same?

The question was asked earlier in the thread but I didn't see an answer so out of curiosity, is there any way to tone down/fade/darken the printed on pinstripes on the baron suit?

Hey! I hate to resurrect a practically dead thread but I was wondering if you've had any problems with your Baron suit flaking or cracking with the stripes yet ? And if the brown faded lighter over time ?
