my first build robocop

It's not to bad the hole in the bicep that sits over you're shoulder is very small but nothing you can't fix with. Stanly knife but so far all fits ok gota open up the back of the shin as my foot won't fit thugh the gap but again it's easy to do

Good. I tried to make that 'flat' around the bicep opening a decent size so it'd be pretty easy to cut larger. That shin though, I think I mentioned in the original thread that it was the biggest 'problem area' for fitting (Robocop had sissy-ankles). The original suit shins had a hinged panel, I never added it though:

I thought it would be easier to build the whole piece, fiberglass it, and then cut it away, to prevent extra warpage during fiberglassing and keep the fit close after.

Yeah I was looking in to Piano hinges and the same clasps to lock it shut but will see what I do when it comes to it but so far it's a great file so a big thanks to you laellee for doing the work on it all

Amazing pep job. I don't even like looking at that pep file, all those rings.... :lol:thumbsup

I'll get some, it was commissioned and sent almost a year ago, I'd like to think the guy's finished it by now :)

I used laelee's foam file to make mine. Just won best male hero at wizard con sacramento with it a couple weeks ago =) Got tickets for comic con and plan to wear it there too. I'm trying to figure out a way to make the leg open up and have the gun come out, like in the movies. I think that would make the suit epic! Haven't figured it out yet thou. The space is pretty limited in the leg for servos and hinges. Keep up the good work on the suit, it looks great so far!

Congrats on the win, that's awesome! Robocop's finally starting to get some love!

Thanks! If I get the leg working i'll go ahead and post a video of it. I'm thinking of cutting the leg right down the middle. But instead of the halfs sliding to the sides like in the movie, just hinging them to open like doors. The hard part would be how to get it to open and close with the push of a button somewhere on the suit. I had not realized all this was on a prop in the movie, not on an actual leg! Space is definitely not in out favor!

Just a thought on the leg opening. Couldnt you use the magnets and spings like on a bathroom vanity mirror? Just a thought, love what your doing so far!!

Sorry no updates as of yet been realy busy but I am hopping to get back to work on this soon
