My Captain America TFA

I just finished up my Captain America TFA. Helmet is by Finhead with JM Leather parts. UD Replicas made the suit, and shield is from CousinDave. So I have an all Canadian made Cap haha. It seems like all my favorite stuff comes from Canada these days. The trickiest part of the UD suit wAs getting the jacket, belt, and pants to work together. The jacket can't be tucked into the pants, and the jacket is too long as is to look proportionate with the belt because the belt would be too low. So I painted the bottom of the jacket blue.:D I still need to match the color better, but it works for now. The UD suit is great, very high quality. My only gripe is the gloves seem sub quality for the price. For $200, I think they should really have a lining so your hands don't get dye on them, and a metal buckle instead of the weird plastic one(which I removed until I can get metal ones to replace them.) I also freed up the buckle from the back of the jacket so it could attach to the belt. All the brown parts were roughed up with sandpaper, and then I hit the whole suit with airbrushed weathering, black and grey.

Looks great! I like the weathering. It seems to dull down the leather look of the UD suit and make it more "fabric-like". I had thought the jack zipped into the pants. That is a bummer it does not zip or tuck. At that price I would be very hesitant to start cutting on it to alter the jacket!

Over all, that is one great looking TFA!

This looks fantastic. As previously stated the weathering is what really will set you apart from other cap's.

Looks fantastic! I just bought a shield from Cousin Dave and it's amazing. And I picked up the UD pants and jacket from another member here at RPF. Their sizing is weird, and when I first got it I was upset because it didn't look like it would fit at all. But, after talking to a few people and putting it on and taking it off a few times, it actually seems to be fitting better.

I'm curious, how big are you, what size pants / jacket did you get, and how do they fit? Mine work, but they're still pretty tight.

I'm 6'1" 195-200lbs and I have a Large jacket and Medium pants.

Thank you all. I am 5'11" and 170 lbs, and am wearing large jacket and pants. I originally ordered mediums, and had to exchange them because I was about 20 lbs heavier a few months ago when I started this. That stuff was tight! The only figment issues I have now are an excess amount of room in the butt, which I managed by wearing the pants high and using suspenders. I do not zip the jacket to the pants. Also, the chest and shoulders are tight, but I think I can modify it further with removing material on the chest under the flap and adding sme Lycra. Also planning on doing this around the armpit area. Also want to find a way to wear the shield on my back. Prob not going to do the gun and holster, just for the fact that so many sheep are scared of the sight of a gun these days, and don't want to worry about it.

Your weathering job looks tremendous. It really takes away that new leather sheen. Can I ask exactly what you used? A watered down acrylic grey/black wash? I was thinking of using graphite powder as it would not be permanent as I'm not sure I have the balls to permanently alter my UD suit.:)

Thanks! The shininess of the leather is still there, I didn't paint the whole suit. It mainly looks like that because the pictures were taken on a cloudy day. All the weathering on the suit is just grey and black highlights airbrushed on, didn't actually cover the whole thing. Alcohol works well for removing shine on leather, like I did on my Wolverine jacket, but I tried it on the bottom of the legs of the pants, and it takes off the outer finish with the herringbone pattern. I'd like to get a totally matte finish, but don't think it's going to happen. I'm really liking the suit though!
