If you see a flaw, keep it to yourself. Ignorance is bliss.[/b]

:lol I hear ya.

Looks great, though.

But TELL US ABOUT MARIA.. :eek

Can one of you with a good ship take some close ups of the bottom
of the nacelle struts where it meets the hull? And maybe a shot of
the big green running light above the shuttle bay?[/b]

Here is how mine looks. Not too bad for a mass-produced model. Really, I think the flash photos bring out more imperfections than you can see with the naked eye.

well one more flaw found on mine, see the small gap on the saucer. so should I keep or return? Other than the scratch on bottom and this I think the ship is great

I hate to see images like this, its heartbreaking. If it were mine it would go back. For $1200 they would have to do better then that.

I agree, that is too much money to have a gap on the saucer. Even though some of the LE's we are seeing seem better there are still some major issues appearing. What a shame.

If it were mine, I might take a whack at repairing it myself if it offended the eye enough. My main concern would be if that crack will grow over time though.

I'd keep it.

Although I agree that it's a shame to see quality issues on such an expensive and eagerly anticipated piece, I think that the flaws on yours are comparatively minor. I doubt that a single model will ship that doesn't have an issue of some sort, particularly in the eyes of the hell-bent-for-perfection RPF. Which is to say, if you send this one back for a replacement, I'm pretty sure the replacement will have some imperfection, too, no matter how tiny.

Be happy, man. Your Enterprise rocks.

Guys, you need to keep it all in perspective. Be thankful they're not ending up looking like this:

:D

Are you kidding? next year you'll have to pay MR an extra $K to get the
battle-damaged version...

Imagine what the 1/350th doomsday machine with atomic fire lighting inside will cost.

The gap looks like it would be very easy to repair as long as you can find paint that matches. But as Cessna pointed out I would be afraid of these gaps we are seeing growing bigger over the years. Such a dilemma, on the one hand the model looks so nice but on the other we have the quality issues and questions on durability.

I'd keep it too. Mine has a crack in the dorsal but I feel like the rest of it is very good. I'll repair it at some point.

If I spent $1200 on a model and it had a gap in the saucer like that I would send it back. The scratch on the bottom is not as major a deal. The gap in the saucer could mean the adhesive they used is failing. The gap could grow even after you fill and fix it. Also I'm not sure if they would take it back after you try to fix it yourself.

I hate to say it, but I would send it back until I got one I was 100% happy with.

Does the gap have a matching jagged edge to it that looks as if it opened after it was painted? If so, definitly send it back. That would tell me that the adhesive failed maybe after production and it's not just an oversight.

I am still trying to decide if I should open the one I got or not. I am half afraid to after seeing some of the flaws some of these have. :cry

Hey, I was just looking at a Comic-Con photo of the MR-E and look what I saw:

Extra green window. Gold on the base and location of the power???

Not complaning, just interesting.

If you actually have one in hand you better open it or return it. 90 days until they won't take it back if it has a problem.
