CD, I'll bet it's through the entire production.

Me too.

Not too bad an error though, easily modifed with a bit of styrene, putty and paint.

We have to get a paint match soon though.

Some might argue that, that flaw would make it more collectible.
If MR fixes the problem.

Well someone has a pic up at that hobbytalk thread showing one WITHOUT the problem.

I wonder which is the norm?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Treadwell @ Mar 28 2007, 01:09 PM) </div>
No, he photoshopped it to show what it should be like.

Yes he did do that,

Keep reading the thread.

Another guy posted a pic of his and he says no problem.

The very first one I got had the problem, I still have the pictures. I was one of the first to get a ship.
The "artists proof" I got as a replacement recently has the problem too.

I admire you guys who have the eye to catch those things. I stared at the two side-by-side images for 5 minutes like a "Where's Waldo?" before I saw the difference.

Mine also has the innacuracy, but I doubt anyone will ever see it who can tell the difference.

Good eyes, though.

GOT MINE... :D :D

LE # 92

It has that flaw . . . in the shuttle area.

The center grid line, from the front to the bridge is off by an 8th of an inch :cry . When I flicked the switch she lit-up but the left nacelle blades were barely moving. After a minute it sped up and now the two are fine(quite noisy). For some reason I expected more pulsing and a stronger light emanating from it . . . however it looks good . . . very good when you turn off the room lights.

Got a tiny glob of gray paint on one nacelle, and a smear along the top edge of another, that one is minor and I think that with a little maintenance we might be able to remove and improve it.
The two tiny round windows just in front of and below the bride are not aligned, off by just a smidgen :angry .

IÂ’ve still got her under the microscope . . . but man this is one sweet sister. . . she will photograph very nicely.. :thumbsup

Even with the flaws IÂ’ve shared with you guys dare I say she is a keeper? IÂ’ll let you know after I get a longer and more thorough look.
Pictures are pending.

RW.

I am thinking that good one might be an unobtainium.

The MR has a green window on the back. I dont see that.

I got mine.. #328
It has the same shuttle bay gap flaw.

My bottom gride lines seam heavy, but the top ones are definatly lighter.
Some of the grid lines are crooked around the edges though.

My saucer edges display very light edge wear in the paint but no kicks or gouges, EXCEPT the two I accidentely put on the front and side when it spun around and hit the edge of some furnature and I put two gouges in the edge. DOH.. :cry

Lynn,

I had a similar accident where I was turning the ship and scraped a little paint off the egde of the saucer. I found a close color match to the paint and touched it up. The paint I used is Model Masters Acryl Light Sea Gray.

Chris

Edit: Also if you guys look at the certificate of authenticity folder that came with the Big E there is a picture in there that has the same shuttle bay flaw.

Same pics on the website as well.
Looks like somebody wasn't paying attention. Or just working to late. LOL
