So what are the differences between the $130ish MR helmet and the ones that are going for $600? /from the pics on flea bay they look to be out of the same mold.

There is another thread here specifically about the less expensive MR helmet. If you scan that thread, you'll probably quickly come to the conclusion that most, if not all, the folks who bought that helmet are quite delighted with it.

I'm of the view that its a great trooping helmet for the price.

well... the CE frown isn't much better... I'm not a fan of either one really... but out of the two the LE looks alot better...

The CE frown is actually even, which make the apperance alot better, the LE frown is longer and thicker on one side than the other

from the pictures... the CE just looks messed up to me... and if its really a stunt helmet... the frown is way off... along with the stripes... along with alot of other stuff... I guess I'm just used to TE and AP helmets... pretty much anything that doesn't look like an original helmet looks like trash to me... no offense to the MR helmet owners... :)

i don't understand what they did on CE helmet surface. Some parts (the back and the frown border) are not shiny. What they used on the rest parts? why they did not left the ABS in original status?

Are they all like that ?
I do injection moulding for a living it could be a matter of those parts being produced with the wrong material, it's not that uncommon a mistake one type of material looks much like another in it's raw state yet once moulded it could have a gloss,semi-gloss or matt finish.

what i mean is that the back part is ABS in the original status while the left parts got a glossy transparent treatment on surface and is noticeable on borders

and yes, they are all like that, i have verified before buy in the shop with other helmets.

Ok well when you mold plastic like this the outer surfaces will be glossy assuming thats the kind of polymer you use and the surface of the mould is smooth, the plastic doesn't require any surface treatment so that's a little confusing to me.
The butted together joins pointed out will always be visible to a degree, the bit where the front/chin joins on is weird though.

Production issues aside, how can the CE helmet look "wrong"? I note that Master Replicas claims as follows:

"To Ensure that your Master Replicas Stormtrooper Helmet retained all of the subtle nuances of the hand-sculpted original, our engineers digitally scanned and cast a surviving original helmet to recreate this iconic piece of Star Wars history. Master replicas hopes that you will enjoy this replica for many years to come"

If that is true, the CE helmet ought to be highly accurate.

Wasn't that the description they used for the LE ? which by the way is also innacurate in a number of ways.

As for the CE the most glaring and obvious thing is it's symmetrical.
