I guess the thing is...the guns have never been a mystery. That's all. It's not as if it couldn't be fixed easily.

I guess "One OH @#$%.. Kills 1000 ATTABOYS???"

Yeah it can be fixed easily. I doubt its even an issue anymore.

Only if you let it.
He did say it was "no biggy". ;)

Even less of a biggie since it's already been addressed.

The pics show the engineering prototype. It lacks some of the ABS molded parts. The gun corrections were not made to the resin cast parts since that would be a waste of money as they were never being used for production.

thats great to hear Barry :)

like I said `no biggy` I would have altered them to the correct shape.

I'm still thrilled to be getting one. I have a half built scratchbuild I have been working for 4 years and $1000's of dollars later I still have not completed it. After seeing the MR model I'm in a torrent as to what to do with my half finished scratchbuild since I no longer need it.

I see your direction on pointing the obvious but it looks like it's going to be corrected but after that what's there not to love about it? :). And where else can us nerds find a Falcon this accurate at this price? it's a great deal.

Also, as a side note I brought over Lorne Peterson who helped build the original to the MR booth(Comic Con) and at first he mistakenly thought it was the original he asked how much it was selling for and I told him $2199.00 he said "you could get 40K for it easily" I had to regroup and explain the $2199 was Two Thousand Ninety Nine and not Twenty One Thousand Ninety Nine which he thought I meant. After That Bryan from MR came over and explained it's a replica the fans could purchase and Lorne was just amazed, he and I went over it for about 30 mins and to see his amazement was a true testament to the quality of this model.

Hell I never even considering cancelling even 1 of my attaboys heading in your/MRs general direction - even if it had the f'd up guns... I'd just fix'em ;) but seeing how they are already fixed - Attaboy again.

Just one last response to this...

In my field, that is exactly what we get on every project. Clients inevitably find the one or two things wrong with a model in three minutes of looking at it. Even after 1500 man-hours of work. Things slip through.

This is a perfect example of why companies don't like pre-production photos to be made public. Mistakes are part of the process of getting a product just right.

It's no biggie. My comment really shouldn't have stung as much as it did. It wan't intended to. You should ignore them anyway since I wouldn't spend $2000 on a model I couldn't even display. (living space too small.) I would rather put the money on a synth. It's a judgment call.

So when are MR going to make that B-Wing?

I'd say finish it, Lee... You're in a unique position to have a BEAUTIFUL licensed replica, but also the joy of painting one JUST how you'd like. You you are clearly skilled to do it. I would LOVE to have a "blank canvas" to paint, as much as I'd love to have the completed replica.

Ok I'm humbled now. Thank you for the compliment. I have had so much on my bench lately it's not funny but I agree on the blank canvas issue but I still have few armor plates to add (a few hundred) so i'm still many hours of work from a true blank canvas. Having children has totally eaten up all of my hobby time but that's part of it. Don't get me wrong though if I let it go I will start something else.

Lee...donÂ’t be humble...you kick butt at this stuff. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup
As for your Falcon...If I was in your shoes, I would sell it and get the MR. Why waist your time when one is already built and nearly perfect.. :D

Go onto other things that are not available.. :p

How about finishing that Thunderbird 2, Lee? :D

You should also finish your Falcon. The MR one is amazing but I'm still awed by Frank's, Moe's, and Tim's birds. Building something for yourself (if you can) is always special.

The MR Falcon represented a lot of hard work from a huge team of people. Is it perfect? No. There are a few differences, some minor tells, and of course the manufacturing process requirements mean that, for example, the leading edges of the plates aound the ship's circumference are thicker than the styrene ones of the actual model.

But I recall Frank Cerney telling me after he'd seen the master pattern in the flesh for the first time, before the last round of revisions were completed, that even if MR put it out as it was at that point, it would still be the best model of the Falcon to hit the public.

MR continued to tweak it to get it as close as possible to the actual studio miniature. THAT is the level of dedication this project engendered in everyone who took part in it. I believe everyone who saw her at Comic Con would attest (even Lorne Peterson himself, thanks Lee) that this model is as close as most people will get to owning the actual FX miniature itself.

I love models, they're my favourite thing that MR produces. The AT-AT is a personal favourite of mine and I was gobsmacked at how well that came out. The snowspeeder, even though some baulked at its 3/4 scale size, is a beautiful model. The Y-wing in person is large and impressive. And the Falcon...

MR recruited the right people because they were determined to pull it off. I believe it is the best commercially produced model of the Millennium Falcon, or ANY studio scale replica, that's ever been produced, bar none.

End of commerical.

This is all soooooo kewl.

Since I had distanced myself from technology while away,.. I lost the jump purchase on the same day release of this beast. I ended up ordering the Harrison Ford Edition a day after it's release. :unsure I ususaly don't go for the signature editions... for me they just don't make much sense, but I must admit... the power of the FORD compelled me. LOL.

GREAT WORK ON THIS GUYS.... THANKS...

I usually have a disdain for signature editions myself, but the Fact that Harrison Ford signs NOTHING makes this a specail acheivement. Not that I'll ever sell my Falcon but the signature on this one is going to add a TON to its collectible value... My grandkids will appreciate it ;)

My tiny scratchbuilt falcon has Ralph McQuarrie's signiture on it. That really gave me a buzz.

Value added. Gotta love it.

Agreed... the power of the FORD compelled me as well.

Can anyone recommend a good, reputable MR dealer that's a RPF member to purchase the falcon through? Thanks....Chris.
