How about finishing that Thunderbird 2, Lee?
You should also finish your Falcon. The MR one is amazing but I'm still awed by Frank's, Moe's, and Tim's birds. Building something for yourself (if you can) is always special.
The MR Falcon represented a lot of hard work from a huge team of people. Is it perfect? No. There are a few differences, some minor tells, and of course the manufacturing process requirements mean that, for example, the leading edges of the plates aound the ship's circumference are thicker than the styrene ones of the actual model.
But I recall Frank Cerney telling me after he'd seen the master pattern in the flesh for the first time, before the last round of revisions were completed, that even if MR put it out as it was at that point, it would still be the best model of the Falcon to hit the public.
MR continued to tweak it to get it as close as possible to the actual studio miniature. THAT is the level of dedication this project engendered in everyone who took part in it. I believe everyone who saw her at Comic Con would attest (even Lorne Peterson himself, thanks Lee) that this model is as close as most people will get to owning the actual FX miniature itself.
I love models, they're my favourite thing that MR produces. The AT-AT is a personal favourite of mine and I was gobsmacked at how well that came out. The snowspeeder, even though some baulked at its 3/4 scale size, is a beautiful model. The Y-wing in person is large and impressive. And the Falcon...
MR recruited the right people because they were determined to pull it off. I believe it is the best commercially produced model of the Millennium Falcon, or ANY studio scale replica, that's ever been produced, bar none.
End of commerical.
