Okay on my Han ESB Master Replicas Blaster it has plastic grips. I really despise Master Replicas BTW as I think they are way over priced. That from a guy who owns 10 MR lightsabers, a MR ESB Han Solo blaster and a MR Boba Fett blaster. However I have never had a problem with their quality and accuracy. I know some do but I have always been very happy with those two things.

So what the heck is up with plastic grips on my Solo Blaster/Broomhandle mauser. I can not believe they threw plastic grips on this thing. Other than that I love this blaster.

Does anyone know why they chose plastic on this otherwise great prop????

Also can anyone help me on where to find wood grips for it??? The only ones I have found are going for $200 and I've seen complete Mausers for $500

Thanks in advance

I havent seen a mauser for $500 in damn near ten years. tell me where! You can try to find replica wood grips, they should be reasonalble. I'll do some searching.

Was the original prop from ESB made from a real mouser with wood grips or a replica gun that had plastic grips? I honestly do not know but maybe the original had the same cheap grips :).

Your right. It's been many years since I looked at real mausers and I about died when I just saw how much they have gone up. I have seen a few for $500 to $900 but they need so much work or are in such bad shape they will cost a fortune to fix and probably blow up upon being fired.

Han Solo's blaster in ESB, at least the one we see in the Hoth scenes, was a replica Mauser made in the 1970s by MGC (a similar one used for the "Greedo Killer"). As it happens Luke's Hero blaster was a real Mauser (I might be mistaken but I think it is the same gun Han fires at Darth Vader on Bespin).

Wooden Mauser grips aren't too hard to come by but the odds are they will require modification to fit. Mass produced as they were the parts on Mausers aren't as interchangeable as you'd think they'd be.
