MPP End Cap

Hey,
We are trying to figure out what the Original Darth Vader End cap looked like and, hopefully, recreate it.

If you have an MPP (end cap preferably) take a picture of it so we can see what different styles are out there. Here’s a few from some of our members :)

MPP End Cap: Anyone Up for a Challenge?

Overall, Parks is the closest. It was based on my original MPP I loaned to him.

Hey, soooo.

I have a:
Parks MPP
Larbel MPP
FX MPP

and they all have different end caps :lol

I was just wondering what the REAL MPP Flash End Cap looks like.

Re: MPP End Cap?

ty Ghost Host, and sorry about all that stuff with Parks...

But I would be SOOOO Intrested if someone remade Master Replica MPP End Cap.

"Hint Hint,Wink Wink!!"

Anyone up to the Challenge?!

Re: MPP End Cap?

Yea, just without the step at the edge. In reality, grips can almost lay flat on a real MPP. The Larbel/MR versions have a larger diameter toward the threaded edge...

Re: MPP End Cap?

Oh yeah I see what you mean.

I think the best end cap would be:

Larbel End cap (the Chrome piece)
Master Replica Middle piece (the Black piece)

And make it all out of metal, not resin :)

I like the Larbel End cap because it fits snugly on the tube and the Parks is like “Lumpy”. If you have ever tried to put the grips on a Parks MPP you know what I’m talking about :p

OR! :)
what could be even better would be a exact copy of a Real MPP End cap with a Master Replica Black piece in it :D

Re: MPP End Cap?

There were variations in design of the original MPP flash, and so both of the Larbel and Parks MPP endcaps are accuarte to the particular versions of the MPP flash (except Parks is missing the rings on the black section).

I believe the chronicles vader saber resembled the Larbel MPP endcap more than the parks endcap.

Anyone got good pictures of an Actual MPP and a Master Replica end cap?
:D

Re: MPP End Cap?

For the record, mine was based off a real MPP too. And the MR end cap is basically Larbel end cap (<-- for some reason, I don't like that sound of that LOL)

Re: MPP End Cap: Anyone Up for a Challenge?

I love my Parks MPP. But I really loved the Larbel too, because of the black part on the bottom of the endcap. The ridges on the ring... Just that one little detail realy set it apart.

Re: MPP End Cap?

Hey Larry!! :)
I love your end cap, but I have one question.
Why did you make the black part out of Resin?

Re: MPP End Cap?

My real MPP is on it's way, I'll post some pics of the endcap when it arrives.

Re: MPP End Cap?

Krel Jedi - Yup, and thank you again for being brave enough to loan me it :D

JoblessPunk - I only made 500 pcs of so, and for that quantity, it really doesn't justify the cost of make a tooling for it. Resin just seem more reasonable at the time.

Cool, cool, and wow!
I didn't know I had something that had such a low amount made :)

Re: MPP End Cap?

I didn't realise the number was that low either i always thought i paid a low price for my Larbel and to know now that a low number were made makes it even more of a bargain

yeah same.
I picked my Larbel up for the same price as you could pick up a Parks.
It just took me longer to locate a Larbel.

Re: MPP End Cap: Anyone Up for a Challenge?

It was my pleasure larry. Can someone post some pics of your actual MPP.
My collection is in storage at the moment and I had a request for some pics of the real McCoy. Thanks in advance.

Hey Larry, good to see you post here again. You don't know me but we have a mutual friend.

I did inquire about making a run of MPP endcap before, since I have a real one, but I was made to understand it'll take an order or no less then 5,000 units, in order for the jig, die etc worthwhile. This is because there're at least 4-5 processes involved to produce a dead-on accurate MPP endcap.

Even at that number (5,000 units or more) I was quoted a per unit cost of around US$25.
