MPC Millennium Falcon Conversion

Yep, you gotta be organized with your greeblies dude;) Best way to find what you're looking for in a jiffy. Glad you're back on the saddle.

Installed the lower jawbox into the hull. Nice n neat, I think I'm getting the hang of this scratch building jam ;)

I would've done more but my desklamp has blown haha

Hey! I love your build! I hope you'll finish it soon!
I find it awsome how you have nicely equipped workshop at your school! I didn't have nothing even close... Man, if I had a lasercutter at my school...........I'd have probably cut of my finger! :lol

Been working on the mandibles yesterday and this evening, I certainly have more respect for all you 32" builders and the hundreds of panels you have to make! I found it relaxing but tedious. Oh and I've run out of wire again...dang..

Here are the underside halves

I reused and upgraded the original MPC wells

In comparison to the kit part

Badly limited for space here, only 14mm maximum to work between

I think it's all coming together pretty nicely once more

Any comments are always appreciated my friends!

Worked on the mandible topsides, ran out of 0.85mm wire though so I had to stop. I also started work on cockpit version...whatever number it is now...

How do all you Falcon nerds think it looks? Good? Off?

tumblr_n4cjc0vo3v1sf4tb1o5_1280.jpg

I just freehanded the cockpit really with a pen, a pencil and a lil bit of masking tape

tumblr_n4cjc0vo3v1sf4tb1o3_1280.jpg

Camera has distorted it a bit...in person it's pretty close to the 32" imho

tumblr_n4cjc0vo3v1sf4tb1o6_1280.jpg

The original plan was to cut all the windows out and have the bars left in, but the plastic varies in thickness across the whole cone so in the end I figured it would be better to add them in styrene rod

I cut it all by hand with a pin vise, knife and compass needle haha...I should buy a dremel really, I keep saying I will but yaknow. I ended up snapping the front though, so I've glued it back in and hopefully it should hold strong

Hi guys, and wow! to you Haystack Hair. I must say, i've been lurking around some Falcon threads over the past few months, collecting reference images, tips and stuff like that, to start working on my falcon =D and as expected, it's a titanic endeavour, but i like challenges :) currently in my bench i have a speeder bike i'm weathering, but that is going to be done soon. so i have to ask. What kits and scale did you get to do your kitbashing?? so far i've identified one 1/144 panther tank i there :/ I'd like to add as much detail as possible to my falcon :)

Thanks and keep up the good work

Cheers

Hey Crlock! Glad to see another MPC Falconer spring up, over the past few days I've been thoroughly ID'ing parts and finding the suitable scale kits. If you inbox me, I can share with you my findings and I'd be keen to have a link for a 1/144 panzer tank as I've had issues finding one

Thanks and good luck!

Wonderful build! Just started my work on the engine bay, and I keep coming back here to drool over yours! More updates please!

I've got to say, I hardly have any motivation to finish this one now. There's just so much work left to do still, and now that I have a Finemolds kit I'm wondering whether it's worth my effort to complete the MPC kit.....

WHAT!

I had a lot more fun with the MPC than the FM

Shelve it for a while, but don't give up on it,......think of the fans:)

J

HrmrmMmmmmmmMmMm it's just so much work and the end result won't even be as clean or accurate as the Finemolds kit (with modifications). All i'm really after is an accurate and sweet-lookin' Falcon
