Movies you hate that everyone else likes

John Carter.

The people that actually did see it, they seemed to love it.

I hated it, convoluted story and too much floaty CGI.

I did. All the haters can hate. Despite some unfortunate editing it had some great Bond moments. Certainly better than Brosnan's last three films or the majority of Moore's entries.
I agree with you about the Brosnan and Moore movies, but that example is like comparing dog excrement to slightly older dog excrement. :D

How can you not love the opera scene? Or the scene where he dumps Mathis? I didn't think it was excrement at all. Anyhow, this isn't a thread to judge other people's opinions! Power to you bud! :lol

I sincerely apologize, as it was not my intention to come across as if I was judging your opinions. I was just cracking wise. I'm glad you liked it; I wish I had. It did have some good moments, but overall I thought it was an extremely weak follow-up to Casino Royale.

Not saying it didn't have good moments like the roof chase, it was mostly the post production that let it down, like in the boat and where they are swinging on the painters rig.

Got to say I liked TWINE even though it isn't as good as Goldeneye, I loved that film.

To stay on topic I don't like.....Shrek 2 - 1 was enough.

:lol I was referring to my judging of you! No worries mate! :thumbsup

I cant stand Jim Carrey movies, I don't get all the hype about what a wonderful actor he is, to me he just plays the same "wacky" guy in every role he's in.

Never been sold on any of the POTC movies.

Can't stand Avatar, don't know if was because of all the hype about it or what but I've watched it once and have no desire to watch it again, ever.

I also can't stand the Paranormal Activity saga, don't know what it was like in the states but over here there was SO much hype (I remember reading somewhere that Speilburg had said it was the scariest film he'd ever seen) about it and it was a total let down.

Yeah, ok fair point Number 23 was an exception to his usual role. I did try and sit down and watch that but I just couldn't sit through all of that movie, it's the only movie I've ever walked out of.

I agree most modern movies do nothing for me, they're all shot like the camera man is on crack and can't sit still. These new Craig Bond films are horrid, LOTR i couldn't get into at all they were even duller than the book was. You can tell movies these days are made for teens with the attention span of a baked potato.

Oh man, I HATED "Casablanca". That was such a cop out ending. The hero didn't even get the girl! And what about that TERRIBLE film "the Godfather". The hero of the film winds up being the guy he didn't want to be? LAAAAME! And what about that "Citizen Kane"? Really? All this fuss about a sled? PASS! "Seven Samurai"? Puh-lease! So LONG and boring! I just watched it to see the "epic" battle at the end. Some battle THAT turned out to be!

From now on I shall stick to good movies like "Birdemic" and "After Last Season", thank you VERY much!

Alright alright. It's a joke people. XD I'm just saying that I'm kinda surprised at how many actually legitimately GOOD movies are showing up on this list is all.

In no particular order:

Crash
No Country for Old Men
The Social Network
Inglourious Basterds
Twilight (of course)
Babel
The Hangovers
All Mission Impossibles
Charlie Wilson's War
Knight and Day
Black Swan
Hotel Rwanda
Blood Diamond
All Transformers
Oceans 11, 12, 13 (give me the ORIGINAL with the Rat Pack)
All the Bourne movies
Anything with Jonah Hill
Anything with Paul Rudd
Anything with Denzel Washington (don't ask why, I just don't like him)
Anything with Michael Cera
Anything with Jake Gyllenhaal (I don't really like his sister either)

American Beauty - how did that win Best Picture over The Green Mile? 10 minutes of footage of a plastic bag, really?

Well it is a thread for films that everyone else likes. That said, I was all ready to slap you until I read the joke line! :lol

Mwaa haa haa haa haaa! XD Still, for me, movies that everyone likes that I hate AND are bad is usually what I think of. Like the Transformers live action films or Indiana Jones 4 or Inception or Avatar or Prometheus or Scott Pilgrim. EVERYONE I know has this love affair for these films and they really are the worst films I've watched in the last ten years. It's not that I don't "get" them like some people suggest either. I get them, OH do I get them, I just happen to think they're BAD.

All movies directed by either Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan.

Two directors worshipped by teenage film buffs as gods walking amongst the earth.

Yet when they develop into more critical thinking adults they might realize that they are both far more average than they originally thought.

The Incredibles
Batman Begins (and The Dark Knight)
Rocky (and sequels)
The so called "Mission Impossible" movies, with Tom Cruise.
Everything with Ben Stiller.
