That's funny you mention 120 Days of Sodom. I'm just reading Marquis De Sade's "Philosophy in the Bedroom" and was going to mention it in my last post, relating to the, um, ingesting of waste materials.

I read 120 Days, once. Not a pleasant read; I found it bearable only because the sheer implausibility or impossibility of many of the acts put it firmly into my mental "cartoon violence" bracket.

I mean I guess you could *do* many of the things De Sade writes about, you just couldn't survive most of them for very long, or at all. OK, death is the object of many of the torture scenes, but the characters take unreasonably long about it. :/ Even the things that don't involve actual mutilations would still kill you pretty rapidly, even back in his day when hygiene wasn't too good generally.

We had the book because my all-things-cute-and-fluffy, Hello-Kitty-seat-cover-using, kiddies-anime-loving wife inexplicably bought it, and read it, without batting an eye. I still to this day have no idea why.

I wouldn't vote for banning all this sort of stuff, but I think I'm with jvasilatos...

I think the interesting thing about De Sade is how coldly he uses logic to argue for the acceptability of the most heinous cruelty, and in some ways succeeds. Of course, you'd have to be completely devoid of empathy to go beyond accepting the soundness of De Sade's logic and actually base your personal worldview on it, let alone acting on whatever urges it allows. I'm pretty sure that an inability to feel empathy is generally considered psychopathic. Some people can't play well with others.

"100% medically accurate?" That's a pretty hefty claim for a movie about sewing 3 people together....How would the two people in back survive off nothing but feces? Unless they were given TPN and fluids? Now the RN in me just wants to watch it so I can pick it apart.

I saw it and was very disappointed. Other that the disgusting premise, it was pretty lame for a horror movie. Kinda thought they would have done more with it.

Human Centipede - 2 Full Sequence has been banned in the U.K.

I don't agree with legislative censorship at all. I think you should censor yourself. If treated as a child, then a child you shall remain.

On the other hand, as already stated I too have a feeling the film itself will be lame. Just from a plot standpoint. So probably won't seek it out anyway. But the principle of whether I can see it or not bugs the crap out of me.

If anyone dares then try ''The Serbian Film'' , that out does them all for being flat out disturbing. Not human centipede, not 120 days of sodom, not Bad boy bubby, nothing will prepare you for The Serbian Film. It's actually a pretty good movie it's just that some of the stuff in it , how shall i put it, Cannot be unseen.............

I loved Bad Boy Bubby, I thought it was hilarious. I can handle just about anything as long as it has a decent script. Nothing gets me reaching for the remote or walking down the aisle faster than rubbish storytelling.
Martyrs, Inside or Frontieres (thats strange, all French?), they were all ok cause they were coherent.

anyone know when the sequel is to be out? My friend had me over and said the "you have to see this movie" line... so i did and like someone said.. I cant unsee it... so now I must see th sequel. Do you think they will have the middle girl in it? Kinda curious what happened to her after the cops die... is it assumed that she died as well? Im just like that... I wonder what happens after...

I remember an old thread about this movie right before it came out but this movie is so jacked up it's worthy of being brought up again.
Weeeeelllllll, I just saw it and I have to say, I understand why it was so controversial.
If you want a REALLY messed up movie to watch this Halloween, boy howdy, this is it! NOT for the faint of heart!

Once you get over the shock of the idea and the "eat it" scene, it gets boring for me. It's just muffled crying and a German guy who is either an amazing actor or actually insane.

Hilarious. I watch a lot of old Japanese films, and the guy, hearing the guy scream had this great old "yelling and grunting" samurai movie vibe that made me grin. And I had to laugh at dumb crap like walking through the WOODS when the car breaks down. Movie was so stupid and ridiculous it was good :lol
