MOEBIUS BSG75 BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (Reimagined 2003 Series)

All right, I bought one. I have never done a model in my life but I’m going to give it a shot. I’ll definitely be referencing this thread.

Decals and panel line wash done followed by clear coat.

Just beautiful. I wish I didn't have so many "on the bench" I would use this build as a template for one of my own. Excellent work.

With the lighting it looks like it could be a real prop from the show

I did have one question about the connector you used for the power source. What is is and where do you find them?

It's called an M12 or GX12 aviation plug. It comes in various Pin configurations from 2 pins to 7 pins........ One USA seller has up to 6 pins

6 Contacts 6 Pins Aviation Plug - M12 HQ | eBay

I found an M12 7pin in China and cheaper also

GX12 Aviation Circular Connector Male Plug& Female Socket Diameter 12mm AWZY | eBay

Their also is an M16 but it's larger in diameter than the M12 and it can have more than 7 pins. I chose the M12 because it's smaller

Sorry for the delay. Started home renovation and had to stop this build for a while. Just started back up and put the base together and it's ready for priming. I also started the Moebius Pegasus build. I'll start a new thread for that soon.

First coat of primer and putty done then sanded and re-primed. Will sand tonight to see if it needs additional primer before basecoat. Electronics mounted to the underside of the top panel.20190123_074352smaller.jpg 20190123_074408smaller.jpg 20190123_074428smaller.jpg 20190123_074533smaller.jpg 20190123_074606smaller.jpg

Excellent!

Lighting and painting and display base all come together perfectly!

Thanks for the compliments. I wish the model was a little bit bigger like 20" to 24" It would have been much nicer.

I took this last batch of pictures with a black background that I threw together with black foam board and I think they came nice. I will build a more permanent area with a black background to take pictures of my models going forward.

I love the side by side comparison,. Didn't really know the classic Galactica was that much bigger

Also new background does your model much better justice than the white cardboard
