OMG you are the Tape King! My head hurts just thinking about it.
This is one of the best, if not the best, paint scheme I've seen for the Galactica. Just outstanding. I only wish this model were bigger.

Thanks for the kind words........Yes what a pain to tape. I had to cut strips just over 2mm because the 2mm tape I had was slightly too small. I have been working on the middle section and hopefully I will close it up tonight. Then on to the taping of the hangar bays.
I agree it should be bigger. If this was the size of the BadAZZ Galactica but keep the detail of the Moebius kit it would be so much nicer and easier to work with. Not much room in the middle section for lights and wiring. It's been a challenge to get everything to fit in.
Main hull all sealed up.
Finished detailing the hangar pods........The red pod light will be dimmed.
Just a few touch ups to do and then onto the hangar bay rib detail painting.
I plan on a dark gray wash for the hull plating panel lines before the decals and clear coat.

Any reason you went with fiber optics for the small lights and not LED tape?

For the front section under the head I tested with LED tape and it looked good but their would be a light leak around the top edge which I did not have to deal with using the FO. I had already painted that section by itself and it would be tough to go back and light block / touch up with it installed in that tight space.
For the sides it would be very difficult to get light to shine through the very front 3/4 holes with LED tape since that section is very thick. I had to cut away some of plastic from the inside so I could drill the tiny holes to get the fiber through. With LED tape I don't think you would get even lighting for all the side holes and then you would have to deal with light leak from the bottom seam around the pod in that area.

I have run into a problem with the center engines. The plastic clear piece that covers the back center engines has 2 center spots that collects the light and focuses it in the center of each engine. I did not test this thoroughly enough but it seems my LEDs are too far back and the light does not focus in the center. Now with the top and bottom sealed I can only get to it from the back. I will attempt to push the LEDs in and drill out those holes a little wider so I can pull the LEDs into the compartment. I'm hoping I can remove them and re-solder new ones and place them right behind the center of the clear part to focus the light there. The side engines focus the light perfectly.
I don't have any pictures with the clear plastic pieces in the engines except for the 2 bottoms ones in the last picture. You cannot see the effect from the angle of the picture but it's there and pretty cool.

Still have to paint the hull plating variations and the red stripes on the bays. Then a dark wash between the panel lines of the hull plating.
Coming down to the finish line....Then on to the Pegasus!!
