Heya
I posted this @ rebelscum and havent seen anyone attempt this yet but,

How do-able do you think it is to modify the MR .45 mini sabers?

Are these too small to work with?

Weathering with paint would be easy but how about
a luke v2 or a v2 sidious mini?

Anyone try yet?

I made this one last year - easy :)

Recipe:
Luke ROTJ and Obi ANH "clean" were used.
Top of Luke was sanded flush, and hole was carefully dremelled out, sanded smooth.
Both sabers disassembled - can't remember how I did it for the life of me - it was easy though.
Obi Graflex band slid onto Luke body (control box was removed - two tiny screws under the activation plate, if memory serves.
Bubbles were replaced by a piece of plastic card that had the black and metallic stripes airbrushed.
D-Ring from Obi was carefully removed and put onto Luke pommel.
Paint was applied with a brush - black gloss enamel.

Wow that is great.
I was concerned that the pieces wouldnt readily 'come apart' without catastrophy...

What's up with the Luke ANH having the Graflex Clamp on the wrong side? Can this be reversed?

Well technically, there is no wrong side. There's screen accurate and production shot accurate. Depending on which pics they used (most likely production), that's how the saber was built.

Actually it is on the correct, screen-used side. :)

Well, I like it better on the other side. :) Can it be moved?

VERY interesting. I should have known they wouldn't do a complete run of sabers with a major placement issue. So, the majority of sabers from Master Replicas are based on the production photos and NOT the screen used?

Actually, the reverse is true...
MR's sabers , at least the Graflex Mini is on the Screen used side.

We're used to it on the right because most good shots we use for reference are from Promotion shots...

The screen used side IS on the right on the ESB.
