Modelmaking Degree Final Year Project [HALO CQB Armour)

I must admit, I too thought they were CGI promo shots at first glance, and that this wass your planned project. I am stunned to such detail come through by vacu-form.

Job excellently done!

I have a hard time believing that is vacuumformed. Not in a bad way, it's just freaking awesome! Truly amazing. Not perfectly accurate, but the best vac formed halo suit I've ever seen. Production quality is just through the roof!! It's so freaking awesome! I don't even know what to say. Are you on the 405th.com?

I'll try and answer a few questions before I post some WIP pics.

'Why choose the CQB armour?'

The helmet seemed the easiest to sculpt around a real motorcycle crash helmet...there is one inside the vacformed outer shell.

'Where are you studying? Herts? I have a vacformer that is 55x26 inches if you want help with anything.....'

Yes, Herts.
Cool. I'll definitely bear that in mind...where are you based?

'Trying to source your old work, no pics are up any more and your site isnt working?'

They keep deleting themselves. I don't currently have a website. I will do once I graduate and set up as freelance :)

'I'd love to see some pics or details of the undersuit if you feel like sharing.'

Here you go:

I got mine off of Ebay - £150 new.

CGClone
'Did you photoshop in the lense reflection?'

No, that reflection is the studio at uni. I'm in one of them :)

MjolnirArmor
'Are you on the 405th.com?'

I'm not. There are tooooo many forums....I lose track. I have checked it out though.

By the way, you'll need to be 6'4" to wear the suit properly. It is about 6'7" with the helmet on. I'm a good 8" too short.

Not sure if it's the pose but my initial first thought was that it was a female (master cheif) suit having never played Halo 3.

Still, Fantastic Job! :cool

:$ Thanks chaps!

Dan, Pete is still around, Ashley doesn't teach anymore, but is still around doing something. I should pop into town and see you guys. Would that be cool?

Astonishing work Vos! That's gotta be one of the nicest lids I've seen in a while. Hmm, I wonder if that would be legal to wear on my bike ;)
