MK9 Smoke Costume WIP *Finished pics pg 5*

Excellent! Your smoke setup is awesome! Congrats on the great work!

Thanks! It took roughly 60-70 hrs of actual building and a week(168 hrs) of waiting for tabards.. I've since taken an interest in sewing.

Not too shabby, I like it! For awhile I didn't think it was going to come out too great but you proved me wrong.

Thanks! It was a little sketchy at times but it came together nicely.:)

Well currently I'm unfolding Smoke's Armor files so I don't think I'll need the templates you have, btw Quakevirus would you like the pep file for Smoke's cigarettes to go with the costume? It's got a texture on it as well so you don't need to paint it or anything and it can even be built over a empty pack to give it a bit of strength.

Not a prob, Those pep files would make some awesome smoke armor! Id like to take a look at the files when they're done. Id like to slowly upgrade this one, after halloween, and the files would work great for sintra templates.

and yes I would love that cigarette file. I have a full pack waiting for it...for strength purposes...don't smoke kids! :)

Pepmaster are you talking about Smoke's alternate costume Pep files? Please pm me when you release those.

I believe its the same

I believe they are the same the only change is the mask I think. Right now I'm working on Rain's Mask but I'm having problems because there are several open edges in the file that I'm having to manually fix. After I finish his mask though, I'll be doing the armor files and then getting to work on Gordon Freeman's Half Life Armor. Yes I know off topic but I could'nt resist I'm just one insane pep genius.

I meant the one you see on this thread, here is his original mk9 look.

Ok you're right I think I have that model. I honestly hate the alternate costumes, means more work for me. But so far I'm the only unfolder of the MK9 Files and the only person who has unfolded the MK vs. DCU Scorpion and Sub-Zero masks, I guess there's just so much work to it nobody else wants to do it. Just like I was the first person that made the Warhammer pep files what seems like years ago to me, but I'm the only person who remembers that.

Wow, look at that Jon. That turned out really awesome. I never really had a doubt.

Thank you kind sir! A video is in the works. :)

You know I appreciate all of your hard work buddy. I don't think anyone will forget that these files are coming from ya. If I knew about the warhammer peps I would remember. I know now.:)

Nice. I always appreciate a good video game costume that takes some hard work to complete. Well done.

Thanks! Definitely had it's challenges.:)

One tip on the arms, when your budget permits, get a pair of lycra sleeves stuff them with padding to give them a bit of muscle, then coat with latex and if you can airbrush them to your skintone, that way you'll bulk up those noodle arms of your lol. But I know right now you're straining on your budget so save it for after Halloween.

Lookin awesome quake... need to eat some wheaties tho, just a little. i see you're in Texas, what part? I'm in El Paso

Thanks man! Haha Its my metabolism, I eat like a horse but look like a snake. I'm just south of San Antonio. Small town, don't blink or you'll miss it kinda town.:)

Not in a long while my friend, I hardly get out of this town anymore. Kid's and work keep me pretty busy as is. although I'm trying to plan a trip to some here in the near future.

yeah same story here. There's a con here in the next week and the only reason why I'm going is cuz it's in town, lol

If anyone ever wants to do what I do with getting models out of the MK9 game, it's sort of simple, and sort of complicated. First use PowerISO to extract the ISO when you put the disc into your computer and once the ISO is extracted from the disc use Xbox 360 ISO EXTRACT to extract all the files from the ISO. But then you arent finished, the files are in xxx format not psk. So you have to download UModel: UE Viewer | Gildor's Homepage
Use that to take the Source files out of the xxx files, import the .psk character file for each character with Milkshape it will be in the Skeletal Mesh folder, and have something like Rain.psk for the file name, remove the skeleton from the model, break down the armor sections, that's where it becomes a real challenge most of the models will have over 100 model groups, and it's like a puzzle. After you break down the sections you want you will more than likely have to do some more cleanup with a alternate 3D program like for me I use Metasequoia LE, save the MQO file and then open up in Pepakura Designer, and take your time unfolding the file.
Getting the DLC characters is a bit more of a challenge, but essentially the same process. I probably lost a few people in the confusion and probably blew a few minds.

Im a graphic designer not a 3d modeler (however I have dabbled a little it the art). I appreciate all that you go through for these pep files(y))
