MK38 Igor build (04/29> Painting and detailing)

Thanks!

I've got a bit of catching up to do in this thread.... I'll try to get better detail pictures posted soon, along with a suit-up.

Loose ends getting tied up/ tweaked this weekend:

Rear electronics placement; wiring runs along the shoulder frame (foam padding removed right now) to the control panel in front.

Helmet LED power mounted in the neck.

Pic of the hand actuator. Squeezing the handles articulates the fingers, while twisting rotates the wrist. The repulsors can also be switched from here as well.

Here's a video to give a better idea of the arm actuation. The combination adds nearly 2 feet to the arm reach, I think the wrist actuation really helps the illusion that a real hand could be down there. (Yeah, the video is like 46Mb, so no upload, here it is on Youtube)

the arm articulation looks sweet man :) is the arm heavy?

*re watched the video. . .jaw dropped*

Thanks man,

I'm really bad at guessing weights, so I pulled my scale out....

3.8 pounds / 1.7 kilos. That's the full arm, so hand, forearm, bicep. I've been trying to keep everything light, but damn I didn't think it'd be that low with what's in it. Funny thing is, I just blew about 3 hours this morning upgrading the laminate push arms to steel angle brackets because I didn't think the laminates were strong enough, so that probably added a 1/4 pound between the two. :lol

wow thats actually pretty cool looking. how are you going to/did do to cover the fingers to not show the wieres when the hand closes?

No worries on that, everything is silver, so they are not very noticeable. 3d printed hands with fully enclosed fingers would be awesome though... One day....

You monster
ever since they divided the forum ive been lost lol
foget to check the marvel forum, :D

Thanks for popping in! Yeah I'm still not used to the new set-up.I had a really long regular-work day today, and it seems like a lot of extra effort to click through 6 different threads, so I'm sure I miss a lot of theads too. Sleep wins tonight, anyways. :sleep

An idea of the finished suit size, I think he's at about 6'9, but he feels taller:

Some pics when somebody's finally wearing Igor:

This arm wasn't seated under the bell properly, but unfortunately my 'handler' (girlfriend) didn't understand that once I'm in the suit, she was supposed to makes sure both bells were seated properly. Anyways, you get the idea.

Happy belated Mother's Day to all the mothers out there, thanks for looking. :thumbsup

I think we should get a Video of this awesome beast! just demonstrate your field of movement and control of the arms whilst in the suit?
I would love to see this, and im sure a lot of othrs would too

Wowsers!! It looks fantastic! I second the video sentiment too. I'd like to get an idea for how easily someone can get around a con in Igor.

Sorry guys, no walking video. The suit doesn't fit me properly (besides just standing there or taking small steps). The room I'm standing in is the biggest room in my place (apartment), so in the suit I literally couldn't even leave the room.:wacko

I'm sure the owner will take a video. Plus it will be all over the cosplay scene as soon as it hits a convention floor.

Awesome, if it would happen.... This won't be delivered. This is all on me, not the awesome guy that wanted it... Shipping a suit like this is a monster, and we can't afford to not have it there unless it fits him.
SOOOOOO..... Long story short...
