MJ Viper progress

Wow -- Starbuck's s DIRTY AS HELL, but the one in the tube looks nearly brand new.

I'd bet the Starbuck Viper model is SRIKINGLY dirty n person.

In thevery last image, it appears that the pilot has goggles or a visor on the helmet, suggesting the Harrier pilot...

I still have some more weathering to do behind the guns, the flash showed I didn't weather it enough.

Isn't it interesting how you pic up on aspects you didn't see before when looking at photos?

For Starbucks ship to look like that on film with the big camera lights on her, it would have to be really nasty in person.

You should see how dirty mine looks inperson, it looks almost black, and how white it looks with the flash.
But that is what you want if you want the SS look.

Ain't that the truth.. :lol
I didn't realize how much my rust wash stood out until I looked at the photos more with the flash hitting them.

I gotta get more black wash on the rust areas and tone it down some.

In my pics, I realized the panel lines are not visible (I did not do any darkening of them). Now I'm going to add a dark wash.

Wait until you see mine.

Combined with high-powered lighting, there's also the resolution factor...

The resolution those ships were shot with MUST be lower than today's standards, and is CERTAINLY lower than human vision. I'm sure most of the smaller, finer weather marks blended in and washed out due to low resolution as well as intense lighting.
