Good topic. I first heard about this when they said they did the Jango armor plates this way. I always wondered if you mixed it in or not. I'll have to try it out.

Oddly enough I have a Tardis Key that's supposedly made from resin and aluminum mixed. It must have a high aluminum content though because the think looks like solid cast aluminum. http://police-box-traveler.deviantart.com/art/New-Tardis-Key-114447615
when I got it it was pretty dull, and I had also modded it. I used some scouring powder and then followed up with some Brasso to polish the patterns on the front. it's still kinda dull on the textured surfaces, but the patterns are kinda shiny.

I use 400 grain powder, and I use clear resin. I usually mix it 1 to 1.
