Any pics of successfully cast resin props with metal powders?
Doesn't make any difference when you buff it, still stays flat grey :lol
I think I used the wrong technique, I just mixed the powder into the resin then poured the mould.
From watching the video Zorg linked to, it seems I should have dusted the mould with the powder before pouring.
The powder is from Tomps, which is a popular online supplier in the UK.
By choice, I would use only Smooth-on products, but they have become ridiculously expensive over here, even Tiranti's are cheaper.
I've actually been wonderign about this for a little whiel as well. Can you use any old resin, or do you have to buy special stuff?
Once again Rob astounds me with his skill. I just want to make some really small shiny bits for a blaster. I was thinking of just using some fiberglass resin cuz I've got so much of it and some metal powder from a friend's workshop. Would that be effective? And what is meant by dusting the mold? Do you just put some powder in and spread it out with a brush, or do you have to use water or something to make it stick?
I use 400 grain powder, and I use clear resin. I usually mix it 1 to 1.
Which distributor are you using for this? Is this nickel?
