Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol

It did look cool... sure seemed to have the same feel as the previous movies (very slick).

Looks like Simon Pegg is a bit more involved in this one... but, I didn't see Ving Rhames. I'd see it just for Pegg.

Re: Mission: Imopssible -- Ghost Protocol

Dude, see where it says "I cannot wait for this flick" and you write "horrible" four words into your post?

I'm not kidding, this place is out of control with pissing and moaning. It's like there is no joy in your lives.

I didn't even click the link...

Just opening this thread made me die a little on the inside.

:angel

Just kiddin. Definitely has potential. It will be nice to see a different spin on the franchise! :)

Just watched the trailer. I was so certain that I was going to see Tom Cruise get intimate with the female member of the team at some point during this trailer, but surprisingly there were none. Could it be that they're going to keep Ethan and Julia's relationship from the previous movie relevant in this movie? That would be nice.

+1 for continuity

I'll be seeing it. No doubt. I will however miss Maggie Q and Ving Rhames. *salute*

Well, now that's what I want to see!

Man, just sitting my office made my palms sweat watching that. That guy's a lunatic. Also, whatever insurance company bonded the film, they're sort of crazy, too.

Say what you want about JJ and Brad Bird, but they know story. What makes M:I so cool? "The Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions." Raise the stakes? Kill the Secretary so he can't save you even if he wanted to.

Man, I can't wait for this flick.

When this hits, I'll be driving an hour to see it on a real IMAX screen.
(It helps that the Dark Knight 2 prologue will be playing before it ...)

Looks great. Cruise is smart to keep changing up directors to keep the series fresh. He gave JJ Abrams his first feature film, and now Brad Bird his first live-action feature? Great choices. MI:2 was a bit fluffy, but Thandie Newton made up for that a bit. The first and third movies are very solid. This one should be another nice entry... And *******, say what you want about Cruise, he's got balls of steel to do some of the stunts he chooses to take on! He's not exactly Katie Holmes' age.

Ving Rhames is in the last (slightly too long) coda scene.

Brad Bird is the reason I'm interested in this one too. The story is another "Have to clear their name" plot, which is annoying but not entirely unexpected. It seems to be the go to plot for spy films anymore. But still, this does look like a good flick.

Just got back from an advanced screening of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. There is a moment in the film where the M:I theme music kicks in during the Burj Khalifa sequence, Goosebumps. It is the best in the series since the first one. Plenty of great action and humour, especially liked that there were some real tense situations, including some good usage of unique tech and gadgets.
