Just found a pretty nice way to make Replica Alien eggs.
I was at Hobby Lobby and saw a dozen cardboard easter eggs for $2 and change. I had a split minute idea to make some of the eggs from Alien with them.
Did detail work with hotglue and a wash of craft glue to seal outer cardboard, then 7 or so coats of paint. Darkgrey/peachmustard/green/peach/darkgreen/black.
For a first run and 3 hours to make 3 eggs I'd say they came out pretty well.
