I've been a spectator here for a while and feel I should chime in.

A long time ago CT called me out for some sloppy photoshop work I did and he was right. I admitted it here on the RPF and moved on. Was he harsh? Yes. But he was right and I stuck my nose where it didn't belong so I left it at that.

Recently a thread here was locked because of CT talk and it was made very clear that linking to his blog or store would not be tolerated on the RPF and talk of him would be highly moderated. That is of course the decision of the moderators here but I would think that it should apply BOTH to people who appreciate his work and those who have issue with it.

At this point I think it best that AS edit this most recent comment or, even better, this thread get locked up and bad blood moved elsewhere.

I don't have a bone to pick with anyone here but let's be fair.

As a gesture of peace if anyone has a sonic that they aren't happy with I will gladly take it off their hands...

It’s not only time to have this thread locked out, but deleted as well. :thumbsup

What is fair? When you try to post anything about Doctor Who props on this forum you subject yourself to slander and criticism from CT on his blog. (A blog that ends up being the first thing people see about you when your name is searched on Yahoo and Google. This is why Kenny from QMX left) Additionally, his supports continually bring him into the debate and attempt to use not too subtle techniques for talking about CTs work, expressing his views, and propagating his misinformation on this forum. If you disagree with them, you are slandered and attacked. Your facebook account is hacked, and you're maligned in a forum in which you have no voice.

I have no blog about how much I hate CT. But if I'm attacked in his blog FOR THE THINGS I SAY HERE, where am I supposed to respond?

His supporters on this forum continually involve his voice in the prop discussion here. And the open nature of the RPF allows him to attack you for whatever you say, without giving individuals a way to actually be free of him or to rebuke his defamation.

Anakin, one more thing:

You said:

But then when I clicked on the link you provide at the end of that paragraph, I get a page that says:
"During series one and two the sonic was maintained and serviced by Mark Cordory. In series three Nick Robatto rebuilt the two sonics so both had the sliding mechanism."

Nick built those two props for season 4

Yeah. And then they'll ban me, Mooneye and LeAngeSolitaire as if we're the ones talking about... You know who.

You are the ones talking about him. You bring his voice into every conversation about the Tennant sonics. Whether you mention CT's blog, or try to slyly say "I think there's a shadow graph on twitter somewhere ;)"
You're involving him in the discussion on the RPF

Oh? I do, do I?

I'm sorry, but I'm going to need some proof on that. I'm tired of being accused of being a trouble-maker on these forums because of what replica I like. Go ahead and research my participation in Sonic threads like you researched info for your super-long post. Please. I genuinely want you to. Because I already have.

Go on. Show what a fiend I am.

Please.

That is so very very true, for far to long we have seen this type of trolling behaviour from them Initiated by ct.

Please extend respect to others. Discussion and debate may lead to heated disagreement; approach them in a civil manner, showing respect for the other person's point of view.

•Avoid personal attacks.
•Avoid flaming, trolling or baiting which includes, but is not limited to creating content with the intent to disrupt. •Avoid hijacking threads. This includes making repetitive dissenting remarks that disrupt the purpose of the thread.
•Avoid harassing or making any type of threat, implied or expressed, including physical threats, or legal threats.
•Be cautious to not misrepresent or besmirch the reputation of any individual, group, site, or company.

Deleted? WTF?

As controversial as this thread might be, it is after all, documenting a process on understanding how a prop was made. Deleting it would only risk this being continued in another thread - why not just leave it open, no matter how furious people get. (seriously, get over people calling eachother names, we are not children!) The only people who have a bloody problem with this thread are the people who are being called out for untruths and blatant fallacies.

I have enjoyed reading this thread because of everyone's enthusiasm to find the truth concerning a prop(s) we love.

I agree with OM on this. Pruned perhaps but left for posterity.

By "fair" I mean that the same rules that apply to supporters have to apply to everyone else. If you have to get knee deep in it this isn't the place as has been stated. Start a blog if you like, or find another forum. Heck, post a comment on his blog post, I'm sure he'll let it through based on what I've seen. Then you can have it out there in front of everyone.

I'm not picking on you, I admire the work that you have done. I'm just saying that this isn't the place for a battle with CT anymore. It's been done multiple times and it's done here.

I understand what your saying, and under normal circumstances I would say the same, but having a thread filled with this type of postings only gives ct a link to his blog, and that’s why I think it should be deleted.

I didn't copy & paste, translate or put anything CT said in his blog on here. In fact Starkiller addressed it directly in the first place. Stop insisting his fans are spreading his personal opinions on this thread...but since you've knocked this pint up before, show me 3 instances in which I, Jedibugs or that other guy repeated something CT said on his blog which was purely against a member and it on a prop.

I'm not saying you're a fiend. But I am saying that you involve CT's voice in a discussion from which he should be excluded as a banned member. Just because you cover your ass with disclaimers like
I would like to point out that Mooneye included the link as a source for INFO about the ridges, and is in no way promoting any product from any manufacturer, as the photos that he is referencing are of the original props and are not of any reproduction. Just to head off any claims that he is infringing on the rules as they pertain to shilling.
Doesn't mean your not involving CT in the discussion here.
And when, instead of responding to people on this forum, you go over to CT's twitter feed to slag them off, you're bringing CT into the mix, because you get to insult people off the board and then they are unable to respond to those insults without bringing up CT's twitter feed and blog.

Once again dude, I’m not talking about you, I’m talking about the time before you join RPF ok. :wacko

Here's you bringing CT into a discussion of Phez's sonic
It's true, the ribs are different because Robatto free-hand lathed them.
&Phez On another note, are you going to use CT's 11th hour sonic for the colour of the crackle? I think his was a bit too blue.

Here's you posting views expressed on CT's blog. Or would you like to tell him that these are your discoveries, that you decided all this yourself, and that you did not regurgitate the opinions he expressed in his blog?
No, the slider and paint was completely off.
So was the emitter, the head was diecast and was supposed to be CNC'd.
The end cap was off, the jaws were too blunt.
You don't notice detail until you've placed it beside the real thing.

You couldn't have been referencing CT's arguments when you said this were you?
that wasnt it, it was the bar in the center which couldn't possibly be there and perfectly round if it was CNC'd, it'd have to be diecast.
the original prop had a screwball the went into it, which MFX failed to have.

Here you're expilicitly referring to CT's latest tweets on an RPF discussion
I can definitely see your point, a essay of insults and brutal corrections, this can be read from CT's tweets. I pretty much know all of this and that Phez is kinda ignoring our points because he doesn't believe it, but dont roast Phez or you'll get banned for abuse. If he doesn't take your advice, well that's just tough **** for Phez. Just don't verbally rape him about it.

Here you're promoting CT's blog as the go to source that RPF members should look to
Why can't anybody mention Celestial toystore anymore? His blog is the best source of research on the sonic screwdriver, it's history and it's creation. Had I not read about it, I would have been happy believing the prop was a cast of the toy.

Here you're posting CT's personal opinion about a board member
Wow, I really didn't believe him at first.
But he's right, you're a total ass.
t(-_- )

Here you're repeating CT's unfounded alligations that Russel Brown sells MFX sonics under the table
Does RussRep still do the MFX sonic?

In this one you're bringing up CT's insulting tweets against Phez
Forgive, but I feel you just said I'm attacking Phez, like CT has made 3 accounts to attack you and Phez. I never once told Phez to stop trying or give up because I believe there may be something superior. I am trying help him (I can hear scoffing already) because the sonic he has now is great. CT is getting paid so his research is towards a product. Phez is doing something completely different and I am trying to help improve his replica.
Stop making a song and dance about it and stop striking up the same arguement.

Once again, you loose no opertunity to reference CT's twitter page
There's a picture of the actual prop and a close up of it's crackle paint on CT's twitter page. (11th hour sonic)

You turned this thread into your opportunity to discuss the information you found on CT's blog, and the fallout that has resulted is from you're newbie attempt to re-iterate CT's opinions as though they are the word of God.

Couple things:

1) The inclusion of insight gained into a prop from a banned member is not the same as the inclusion of said member's voice. I have my own voice, and it is the only voice I use. I am not a mouthpiece. Accusations to the contrary are insulting and, frankly, getting on my nerves.

2) The quote where I posted a disclaimer for Mooneye was from a while back when the policy regarding this particular banned member was quite a bit less stringent than it has currently become, but during a time when some of us had received a string warning about such things. I was just looking out for a member who was trying to bring new information to light about a prop and didn't want to see him falsely accused of shilling for linking to a photo of a screen-used prop.

3) You're still upset that I responded to a tweet, saying that it took a big ego to use your work as a stand-in for the original prop? It does. And your assertion that he had done the same is disingenuous because you snipped it out of a page, but stopped JUST short of the comparisons to the original prop which were the crux of the matter. Furthermore, I didn't bring anyone into the mix, I REPLIED to a tweet that was already about this thread.

4) Lastly, I post things that are relevant to the discussion here. If it's not relevant, maybe I'll discuss it elsewhere. If you would like to discuss something that isn't relevant to props, join the Twitter discussion that so many of us have. OM did and he came away with a different opinion.
But "slagging off" people? No, I don't do that. I made mention of your hubris. I at one point (some weeks ago) said something about how I could no longer stand Phez... But I never derided anyone's work or efforts at prop building... That's not accurate, actually. There is one person's prop that I derided. But outside of these forums. Because these forums are for being constructive. Here, I would tell that person how I think they could improve their prop, if I thought they'd care to hear it. But my Twitter feed is for what I really think. And if I typed on here the way I speak in the real world, it would be nothing but a bunch of asterisks.

This thread jedibugs was the introduction to you and this type of trolling from other supporters of ct that you do now, with reference to any one making or having a go or even talking about the same product that ct offers. Even if it’s was not intended to be screen accurate. You did not let up until it was locked out, like most threads that you participate in.
