Well, that file (as with all the ones I did) was unfolded for foam. If you are planning to build from foam or cardboard, you can use that file (It has one half of the model unfolded, flip the pieces over for the other half). The pieces that are not on the paper in the 2D window are not needed for the foam/cardboard method. But if you are going to build from cardstock paper you will need it to be unfolded for that.

Re: MF's Silver Centurion and Mk 42 Pepakura Files (V2 Centurion Finished)

southpaw, you have mentioned that you did the unfold for foam and cardboard. is there a thickness or type of cardboard that would work best for this?

Re: MF's Silver Centurion and Mk 42 Pepakura Files (V2 Centurion Finished)

this is my first attempt at doing any pep building. i used this file and was just trying to get a feel for it and the different cardobard. i would say it's pretty bad, but for the first attempt, it got me excited to try the second attempt..

Bad? No way! That's awesome for a first attempt. I bet most guys first attempts were much worse than that. I know mine was! :lol

Re: MF's Silver Centurion and Mk 42 Pepakura Files (V2 Centurion Finished)

thanks man, i appreciate that. my daughter was quite impressed as well. :)
that was the practice, now it's time for mk XX, mk 2..

Didn't notice this post until now!

I personally use 5mm thick cardboard for the bulk of a build, and for little details I use 2-3mm.

Oh yes,

So I was playing around with Pepakura's texture settings....

Re: MF's Silver Centurion and Mk 42 Pepakura Files (V2 Centurion Finished)

No joke. My first helmet looks like a hot mess. It was foam and I even hot glued paperclips on the inside to keep the form. That is a very good model. Especially because it is cardboard because you can always strengthen it later and smooth it out.

so you use the kind that's "corragated" like this?? isn't that tough to get to curve??

Re: MF's Silver Centurion and Mk 42 Pepakura Files (V2 Centurion Finished)

It's actually surprisingly not that hard. Just make any main curve go along the corrugation lines.

Check out some of Kryro's builds, he uses cardboard for his suits, his MK 38 is especially good!
thanks southpaw, you have been really helpful. i just got done reading through his helmet build thread, he is a great builder. his hammerhead build thread is in my subscriptions list, but haven't started reading that yet, just not enough time in the day, too much good stuff going on on THERPF.. :D

These builds so far are looking awesome! Keep it up!

Re: MF's Silver Centurion and Mk 42 Pepakura Files (V2 Centurion Finished)

They look amazing! I am planning to make them but I have a question : Will it fit for a 6'0" person? Do I have to channge scale?

Any plans on making one of these suits? From what I've seen of your Hulkbuster thread, you seem more than capable!

I've added a new file to the first post that will help those needing to scale the suit, which I'm sure is almost everyone that will use these. Good luck and happy building everyone!

It's definitely on the list, just need to find the time to do it! :lol

I'm leaning towards making MK 31, it was one of the only mixed-suits to get screen time (and instantly be destroyed), and it looks pretty sweet.

I've been itching to build a combo suit for a while, it might just be the one.
