Here is my two cents I'll throw out there while you are dialing things in.

To me (IMHO) the brightness of the barrel makes me believe it is aluminum. The fold over piece at the top looks like a steel alloy sheet metal like this.

I also think the elongated piece under the barrel is another type of steel or steel alloy. Just naturally a tad bit darker than the top piece due to different sourcing (one being sheet and the other not).

It’s definitely a machined piece and not sheet metal. You can see the machining marks in it.

I know a lot of 3d kits have gone that route but it’s not a wrap over.

For us it’s going to come down to the weathering technique.

No plans to date but if there is interest and we have a gap might look into it. Its cool because of the conversion to different modes.

We have no plans for a base but there are some acrylic people that could hook you pretty easily.
