Men in Black 3- 2012 Standard Issue (CANCELED)

Rumor is that these guys have never done a run of props for collectors and they are just overwhelmed. Add that with lack of experience dealing with manufacturers overseas and having these reproduced in mass quantities. I think they just bit off more than they could chew. I honestly doubt they are trying to cheat anyone plus I have a deposit on one too so I have a stake in this also. You guys should chill and wait till after the comic con. They will most likely be there and maybe I can get some answers for all of you. I can understand your frustrations but calling them constantly and chasing them with emails hasn't worked. I'll see if I can get some answers ok?

TymerDC, we have the definitive answer now, they aren't happening anymore. SONY has pulled the license and SAT is issuing refunds.

I don't think thats the end of this which is why I'll talk to some people at Comic Con. I think someone else will pick up where they left off and finish this but I don't want to speculate till I know for sure. Rumors are just what they are...."rumors".....I'd like to get facts first.

Well, these rumors have a source and like I've said before, FE is "rumored" to be developing the project now. Plus you have an email from SAT saying they are cancelling the project. Basically, SONY pulled the license from SAT and gave it to FE.

I guess I won't bother asking anyone at Comic Con then since you have all the facts. Never received any email from SAT because I didn't order from them but then again I didn't need any email from them.....I already knew about SAT canceling and also heard these "rumors" months ago way before anyone even called them rumors. Gossip isn't something I give alot of weight to since thats all it is is gossip. My money isn't being refunded because I'll just use it for something else or if this prop does move forward I'll still receive one.

I mean, none of this is rumor as much as just hearing information and not wanting to give away too much before anything is set. If there is any one thing you can count as fact, it's that SAT will not be making anything from MiB3 as they no longer have the license.

IMHO, they should never have taken money without first checking into all the "how do we make this happen with overseas mass-production" details. i mean, really? for those that assumed, like i did, that all of their polished adverts were actually backed up by a solid business plan and/or integrity to provide the minimum amount of communication, i do feel sympathy. i came close to offering up the prepayment myself. then i thought about several other prop repro companies that showed fancy pictures and made big announcements, only to see the promises turn into vapor, and reconsidered. i figured i'd wait until more announcements were made and prototypes offered up -- which, of course, never came.

to me, it's okay to bite off more than you can chew as long as you're not asking someone else to pay for the steak in advance.

the story behind how this truly happened, if ever told, would be very interesting.

my rather worthless 2 cents.

Yeah, +1 on everything DrMcoy said.

I don't understand how they could be "planning" on producing these replicas since comic con 2011, which was what, 2 years ago? And have gotten absolutely nothing done? Even from the get go, they had problems with the website and couldn't even get it up and running. Then when they finally did, they had problems with accepting pre-orders and were charging people for the full amount from what I heard. Then claiming to provide more details very soon, but giving no response at all. This is all pretty basic business practice, not even getting into the whole -oversees production complications-. So throughout all this time, SAT made it appear like this was project was happening, and something they were working on, when in reality nothing was happening at all and they couldn't say that? Not even announce a "delay"? Just, no response at all? They were just content to accept pre-orders and make people believe it was moving forward? Not to mention they had the luxury of displaying original props in their sales ads, and therefore didn't offer up a single prototype picture, if one ever even existed.

I'm not really sure if you read what Harleyx posted from SAT, "As you may already know, the MIB 3 replica project is not moving forward." but I think it's pretty clear.. If it hasn't moved forward in 2 years, especially during the prime time of the movie release and pre-orders, I doubt they are going to suddenly decide to get back on the project one day and make it happen. Though I'm sure we would all be happy to hear what, if any comment on the matter you can get from them at comic con. I'm sure they will have an already prepared script on the matter to give all the comic con fans when they ask. As Dr. McCoy said, the true story behind this, if ever told, would be very interesting to hear.

As for the rumors of FE getting the license, I really hope this is true! There is hope yet for .... -The Shotgun- :p

So glad to hear that you knew about the SAT cancellation months ago and they were not rumors as you knew this to be true !!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for not sharing that info as I am sure that no one here would have liked having that kind information.
Also, if you don't want to use your money for something else, then please send it to me as I can help you on that end.

Just because I'm privy to information months ago doesn't mean I have permission to spread gossip around to the general public when friends in the industry tells me something "in confidence". Things can change in that time also. So in response to your "Thank You"......Your Welcome! :D ...and sorry but that money is already going to be used for something else.

Got mine! It is number 25! I will say, they packaged it very well! The gun is vert hefty. I really wanted the
Chrome finish, but looking at it now, I'm glad I got the bare aluminum. I think it just makes it look more
authentic, like a handgun finish would have.

The display case is very nice. My only complaint, is there is no spot for the signed plate. Other than that, it's a very nice prop! If your on the fence, about which one to get, I would suggest this one! I think the
all aluminum gun just looks more accurate. But, that's just my opinion!

I sold all my G I Joe stuff, and a big chunk of my Star Wars toys to get this! I think it was well worth it!
Are you by any chance referring to Factory Entertainment's Standard Issue "J/J2" Sidearm from the original Men In Black and/or Men In Black II? If so, you're in the wrong thread. :unsure

Apparently the shortly to follow this email credit card authorization forms must be in the same information box as to the status of your
order box !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since receiving this John C. Bush e-mail , I have not heard back, nor I have I received this refund authorization form .
Must just be another delay tactic by SAT !

These guys should work for the government as no info would ever leave this organization as no one could ever make them talk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might I suggest a snail mail campaign. Its public info if you look on their website who runs what as well as the larger sister company. Juuuuust sayin.

Finally got eFx to cancel my pre-order and refund my deposit for this bs. At least I didn't have to submit some ridiculous 'form' to do it.

Wish I was smart enough to have purchased this item from EFX and not SAT.
Glad to hear you got your Non Refundable Deposit back.

I still have not receive my credit card forms which I was told would follow their last weeks email shortly !

Wish this item had been produced as it really is a cool item.

Welllll... the last time SAT said it would do something "shortly" was back in June 14, 2012... just sayin.

I will be posting some info about the Layaway plan shortly. I know there are quite a few waiting to find out what that plan will be. We will be extending the cut off date accordingly as well.
