They literally took their most inaccurate movie figure and decided to make a desktop version of it for $150. Do yourself a favor everyone and get a better cowl for twice the price you can actually wear and looks the part. This looks awful. They really need a new design team for their Keaton stuff. Preferably who they have now. Their B&R line was almost perfect (sans Robin missing leg day) and the Forever line is great (sans Robin missing leg day again). Why they decided to release this first is beyond me. Their Sonar cowl is pretty nice.

Please direct me to a quality Cowl for $300.

I like it. It looks good and goes great with my Cheap Necca Batman props. With some mods it will look great. Normally I only get the best, but I guy has to eat. Especially us rounder guys. (y)

Man, kinda bummed seeing how this turned out. I had totally planned on getting it. I wasn't expecting perfection for the price, but this just isn't quite there to justify it IMO.

Too many of the features I associate with the 89 cowl are obviously missing at first glance (I watched it religiously as a child and it was my first movie in a theater). Those ears, man - he's gotta at least have pointy ears...

Yes,but for 100 bucks you can mod the hell out of this.;)

I would have loved an accurate display piece made from hard plastic. This looks too Retuns with a soft '89 logo to me.

They should have asked if they could have used the scan of one of the originals that was made during its restoration instead of them just scanning their own figure and scaling it up. Nice catch, btw.

Besides the ears not being pointy, I just don't care for how thick it looks around the bottom edge. To me, that's an odd choice. If those two things weren't the way they are, it would be well worth the price, IMO.

Perhaps it can be modified. We'll see. Based on the images, it looks like thin hollow plastic...

I think for 100 bucks, for a mass market, available-at-your-local-wal-mart piece, it's pretty spectacular. It's by no means an accurate replica, but I think for the casual fan who is not as dialed into the maker community as many here are, this is a great opportunity to pick up an iconic, recognizable piece of batman history.

I would say my nits are the chest emblem details are a little soft around what should be more crisp points, and the overall shape is not quite right. Most noticeable on the cowl, as mentioned earlier, it's missing the texture. The finish also looks more "returns" than 89, but there's always the possibility the piece on display is not the final display piece. To my eye the overall anatomy of the cowl looks decent. Ears looks a little soft, tips rounded out. The finish really throws off my evaluation because it's casting highlights that don't belong. I'm kind of having the "uncanny valley" experience with it. I can't quite describe what doesn't look right about it, but my brain knows it aint right.

I am not a member of the audience this piece was made for, so I won't judge it too harshly. But if someone wanted a MUCH more accurate cowl that they could wear, those are pretty easy to find these days. But for 100 bucks, for something you can have in your hands right away and will be a great display piece, I think it's awesome. We are living in a golden age for sure.
I have a Keaton cowl that has been on hold for a while. There are two others in the works too. I do not believe those are wearable, are they? Display pieces for collectors?

That’s a good question. Anybody actually have one in hand? And if so, is it in fact wearable?
