Mausers- Denix/MGC Differences?

So how does one tell the difference between an MGC and a Denix replica Broomhandle Mauser? The one used for the DL-44. Basically, I've purchased a metal replica that has differences from the Denix I already own.

The Denix has extra metal pins around the trigger, the Denix logo on the right hand side, no Mauser logo, a nub on the back by the hammer, and the mag well cover is solid and not removeable... plus I'm sure some other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head. :)

there are a lot of differences in fit and finish but the big "tell" is that the mgc had a removable magazine base-plate like the real mauser.
hope that little info helps :)

Marushin also makes a broomhandle replica that is pretty nice. It also has a box magazine that drops out of the bottom. I picked one up not too long ago that was rusty and beat up and misused. It cleaned up nice though.

Hmm, maybe this one IS an MGC. This has a removeable base plate. The "slider" on the sight works, and the receiver is detachable as well. Also, the piece inside the magazine well is spring loaded.

yeah, if your mauser has the magazine follower (the thing in the magazine) and spring and you don't have that sheet-metal screw holding the receiver to the frame you might have yourself an old mgc :thumbsup

It could also be a Hudson. They did a Mauser replica that was sort of a cross between a c96 and m712

This field strips like a real gun, and has "Japan" stamped in the plate under the magazine.

There's no hard and fast "tell" for an MGC?

Years ago I had one the MGC Sterlings and it had Model Gun Corporation actually stamped on it. Didn't the MGC Mauser also have that?
