Ok! So it’s been a hot minute. Moved twice and got my order from blaster factory. Did a couple more stupid things, but progress is made!
I somehow lost the pin holder thing that holds the firing pin, so after some initial panic, realised I have a 3d printer, so got a design and just did 10 damn iterations to get the internal dimensions right, but we got there.
Dumb thing two was having my beautiful new walnut handles on the bench as I was grinding out the handle internal… so they got fine metal dust all over them. Not sure if I can salvage that, but we’ll see.
Dumb thing number three. Drilled holes in the handle for the speaker, and used a 1.5mm drill instead of .8, so the holes are pretty noticeable. It’s not the worst, and it’ll probably help with volume, but you know.
I forgot to take some progress photos, but otherwise I blued the steel parts (scope holder and flash hider) and painted the bull barrel and scope body mount thing, and also painted the mystery disc section. I also routed out the handles for the speaker, and drilled and tapped the charge port to be as discrete as possible. I’m fairly happy with how it’s going. I now just need to get an m5 hex head bolt for the flash hider and bull barrel which I’m waiting on, and wire all the electronics. Getting close!!
Oh, glad I got the BF grips, they feel MUCH better than the Denix. They’re much more bolbous.
