Small update i worked all day smoothing out the mdf and that it just alot of smooth
A little spot putty is needed on the barrel and the vents. Hope you guys enjoy following this build

Back with a small uodate
Added a some bondo on the stock to make it look nicer
And of cores every prop builders friend spot putty
And sanded
The vents look so much cleaner
Heres all the pieces i have so far

I finally got some styrene in the mail today but it end up being way too thick to vacuum form for ill wait for that but ill use it for these 2 pieces that i dont know what there called but i need to make them...enjoy
I started with that long box in the mouth of the gun made with styrene mdf and petg sheet
Perfect!
Now was time to make the small piece that lights up! I was working on this all day and forgot to document this piece uh sorry about that but here what it looks like
i just love it when the ting your making starts coming together!
Added some spot putty to conmect the seem

I finally got some styrene in the mail today but it end up being way too thick to vacuum form for ill wait for that but ill use it for these 2 pieces that i dont know what there called but i need to make them...enjoy

The small box on the the barrel was a little too messy looking do i glued some petg sheet to smooth it out and some other detail
I made the vent on the end of the gun with styrene not sure if ill keep it i might rebuild it
Now was to time to work on the scope by vacuum forming it
I still need to work on my vacuum forming never really good with it well i guess thats the price for a cheepy homemade one. Ill have to make a professional one someday
I started carving out the cavity to hold the scope
The whole will be so i can put electronics through it
still needs some clean up to do

This gun is starting to look awesome but you know what will go with it? Some armor!
The past few days ive been working on N7 armor untill i get more materials for the M8 rifle.
Like most people i used Narayas blueprints and used EVA foam that have the texture of similarities of carbon fiber. So heres what i have so far
I started with the fore arms
These details were made with a soldering iron
I made foam tubes that will be my biceps they need a little more detail tho
Then i made the shoulders
They seemed a little to big so i cut them down a little
Now off to some dirty work i cut out the peices fir the front torso and i marked were i needed to sand down with my dremel
Wear a respirator! Dirty work
Some smoothing with the soldering iron
Then i filled in those gaps with foam sheets
More foam sheet and the use of the soldering iron AND some work from a heat gun i git a finished front torso
Added detail to the bicep. Now its looking cool
Now its off to the back torso
Sanding and foam sheet and i get this
Also alot of use of the eat gun!

The bottom half of the back torso needs to be black so i sprayed some plasti paste over it
Did a little touch up with some acrylic paint
Looks so much better
Now time for me to get started on the thighs
At this point i couldn't resist on putting on the armor

Great looking build!! I want to do a Mass Effect build so bad, but my Wife and I like to do couple's costumes, She's not really a gamer, but she liked Halo, so we did that a few years ago, and I am currently working on an Iron Man and Rescue build. She oddly doesn't care for the armors in Mass Effect. =(

Before i wanted to put in the strapping system, i wanted to paint the armor first. After looking through some N7 armor builds, volpins gave me the best advice, for painting and strapping. So heres what ive got
Like volpin said this stuff dosent mask good so i outined were i wanted to paint with an exacto knife very lightly
Then i worked on the strapping (also volpin inspired)
So now its time for a partial suit up!

So since its like an oven outside i havent been able to work on the rifle but i decided to do some comparison to the old rifle.but as i was moving the gun i keep forgetting that the front grip i not screwd in and well long story short droped it, broke, gotta fix it.
But now its comparison time
So obviously alot of imperfection in the old rifle
Back of the barrel is better shaped
New rifle is nice and smoother than the old one
The hanlde is more rounder than the old rifle
The bottoms grips and cleaner

And the stock is longer and smaller

So now that my sickness is clear i get to start working. But now i have a time limit! But i think i get get the armor and the rifle done by then.
So first was to fix the front grip
I added a little bondo to the scope pocket just to make it more clean
I aslo went to home depot to look for some hex screws but i ended up getting some that are too big so that will be on hold
After that i stared to work on the barrels made out of pvc pipe and a little trimming
Started to look good
Now i figured i start carving out the lines wear the electronics with be
Not very clean but itll work
And a carved out the cavity wear the trigger will be. I wanted to cut the trigger and guard out of acrylic but it was very difficult so i used mdf
I also cut out a box out of the handle to add the battery box to fit inside

Then i started working on the eye piece
Since i dont have a lathe i had to use pvc pipe and apoxie sculpt
Heating up styrene ti fit around the pvc pipe
Using petg sheet to help me put the sculpt on
All it needs is a little sanding
