Mass Effect 3 Ending, opinions and feelings?

Oh, if you're considering voice acting and you think you won't make the cut, here's a morality booster.

If you can say COMMANDER, you're more talented than she is.

Let's not forget that BW promised 16 endings for the game and we ended up with the 3 that make every choice from ME1 to this game mean nothing.

So the game was rushed? Or just not planned well? Or both?

Maybe BW has the 16 endings planned but yet to be revealed... oh hell, I don't even know. :behave

I'd say it's both plus just being really lazy. I swaer they did it to ruin the name of bioware (who owns them) because of how they're being treated. Visceral is being treated badly by EA too. If they wait any longer to release anything they won't have any customers.

There are 16 endings. But they are basically variations of the 3 main endings.

I haven't finished the game, but if the endings like I've read, I'm kind of looking forward to it. I've read a lot of theory about the meaning and different people's interpretations. Personally, I think it sounds interesting. People just can't see past the anger. Of course, this could change once I do finish it.

I'm waiting to see how low the reviews on amazon go. We all agree that most game sites are paid by the industry for good reviews and half of them never finished the game.

Thank you for reminding me. One more negative review posted.

I should ask my dad if he can find out from the walmart return desk how many games they're getting back. then again you're stuck as once it is open you can only return it for another of the same game.

I finally finished the game today and got the option for the third ending, and chose what you could call ending 14. I didn't have my readiness percentage up high enough for the slightly better options.

While I can appreciate what they were trying to do, I think they missed a huge opportunity to wrap up the story. Before today, I was totally psyched to start my next playthrough. Now, I'm not so sure. I might wait till when/if the DLC comes out with better endings.

Anyone read the Mass Effect comic involving Aria? The last issue ended with this.

--She will return..
TO BE CONTINUED IN MASS EFFECT 3

And the result? Aria taking refuge on the Citadel and sitting on a couch the whole time. Sure, she's obviously upset over losing Omega, but all she does is spout off empty promises that she'll "eventually" retake it. Does she eventually go back to Omega?

Well, since she's still on the Citadel when it was retaken by the Reapers, I'm guessing not. So everyone on board the station, including Aria, Conrad Verner, Kelly Chambers, the Council, Thane's son, Baily, Matriarch Aethyta, Khalisah al-Jilani, Doctor Chakwas/Dr. Chloe Michel, Aeian T'Goni, the Elcor Diplomat, the Batarian preacher, the Hanar, Dominic Osoba and many, MANY others who you helped save when Cerberus attempted to take over the station.... are dead.

Now, this will most likely lead to DLC, but one has to ask themselves. First we have a comic that ends on a cliffhanger, than we have the continuation in the game that doesn't end on anything, now there's the possibility of DLC for Aria to retake Omega. That's three separate mediums all sold separately to tell a story... THAT ISN'T ESSENTIAL TO THE MAIN PLOT!

And it isn't a Mass Effect sequel if it doesn't include the #1 laziest story telling device, text messaging. I hated text messaging in ME2 because every other time when we're talking to another character, it always involves audio/video communications. My Mom learns that I'm alive after two years? Meh, just sent me a text message. The kid who's life I saved wants to thank me? Meh, just send me a text message. Captain Riley, the alliance officer I helped assist in defending the fuel station, and used my Specter status to give her a promotion ceremony? Meh, just send me a text message.

I bring this up because in ME2, you have the option of replacing Samara with Morinth. You remember Morinth, right?

She sends you a text message saying she had to bail on you before the Alliance took the ship and she hopes to see you again. And she does!

Morinth in ME3!

Yep. Some random Reaper Banshee will have the name Morinth when you fight on Earth. No special abilities that separates her from other banshees, no acknowledgement from Shepard or any other squad mate that this is Morinth, and no closing remarks by Shepard. If you don't pay any attention to the names of the countless copy/paste mobs you fight with on your way to the beam, you will never know that you killed Morinth. So that's the extent of using Morinth. A text message and a regular banshee with a name.

That's actually kinda awesome. I like seeing the "alternatives" to what happened if you chose otherwise in ME2. That's one of the better parts of how ME3 handled things, especially with what happened with the Krogan. However... ending... again, argh.

A lot of the characters got killed off before the game even got made which as ticked off fans too. We got that girl from g4 (who bioware has been paying for good reviews) instead of the Asian reporter from the last 2 games.

You didn't see Emily Wong in ME3 because of the epic reporting that was done via social media on launch day. Just amazing... our own War of the Worlds. Here's a link if you're interested (start at the bottom):

Also check out the hashtag, because the community really jumped on this and started adding to the event:

Here's one for you: Bioware just locked down the discussion area that allows spoilers until further notice.

Oh, I agree. Especially during the introduction of Kai Leng whether or not thane is alive. Where as a sequences like that is actually scripted, acted and developed, the moment with Morinth is a major let down. Here's the basics.

Create: TEXT MESSAGE: Morinth
Place Banshee here. Rename it Morinth.

That's it. It's like if I decided to program a text message to Shepard from a Virmire expedition saying they couldn't find Kaiden's body (Plot hole? We got plenty of them), and one of the husks you encounter on a later Reaper mission was named Kaiden Alenko.

attachment.php

When you encounter him amongst many other Husks, Shepard and his squad take no note of it even though the game is clearly telling you it's Kaiden. There is nothing unique about Kaiden Husk outside the fact that it has his name. Would you feel a bit disappointed that the Virmire casualty returned to fight Shepard and nobody made a single note about it? Imagine if Bioware said "Morinth will make a return!" as a big selling point. Oh, boy.

They finally unlocked the forum, they're trying to do damage control as some potentially damning info came out from a behind the scenes ipad app. It might be nothing but in 3 minutes 9 pages of rage managed to appear.
