Yeah, this type of foam - Plastazote LD45 - is great for modelling and cutting but super porous. Following the PVA sealing, we use plastic spray primer (grey) and then use car spray paints for the main colouring. Previously, I would mask off areas and colour all areas using spray paint, but this time I have decided to try out acrylic paint, mainly because of the flexibility of mixing your own colours quickly, as well as the precision of painting small areas. We use silver Hammerite metal paint for the silver as it has great coverage from a single coat.
