Mark 40 Shotgun WIp

No prob on the pics ;) I am excited to see how the completed Shotgun will look in real life! When you get started on modelling other suits, let me know if you need more reference pics :D

I will! THanks man

Will these files be available for card at some point? Great work BSD!

I am sure there will be.. I think a few are working on it as we speak

Her guys.. It was brought to my attention that the helmet file for paper unfolding had some overlaps in the model. IMIM2 was nice enough to fix this and unfold a paper version as we as a foam.. I will be posting these in the first post.. Thanks IMIM2! And thank you gaiatron for all his unfolds for the rest of the model.. All of his foam unfolds are now in the first post.

I initially thought it was just a glitch.
It took quite a major overhaul.
It's different to model for pep and for 3d print.
However, both turned out great.

I took a liberty of changing the color scheme and made the back into several panels.

Thank you for the fantastic job.
Will find some time to make the helmet.

:thumbsup

lol it will be some time before that one gets done.. Do you have a thread?

No. Not yet.
since i'm still new here and haven't reach minimum post yet to make any thread.
And i think i'm gonna focus to finish some commision before continuing on my Iron Man project. i'm lack of budget
:(

Again, no offense BSD.
The neck without any support frame or "thickness" will not form the shape as we wanted.
I added neck base from robo3867's MkVI neck. so the base ring of the neck can hold it's shape.
The rings to the top will follow that.

I am not sure if this modification is allowed, so for the mean time, I just show you this

That looks great!

OMG, I can't help myself.
Here is my new helmet collection, Mk40.
It still not finished yet, I ran out of superglue, and foam parts has not been added yet.

It took me about 3 hours from printing to this stage, not bad for paper speed build.

One thing I noticed, is that the eyes are very small.

Nice! Which MK 42 is that?

I have always assumed that the "eyes" were cosmetic, anyway... It appears, to me, that what he sees is thrue a computer generated interface, like having a mini-smart phone for each eye that integrates a HUD with a real-time image. I would further guess, from what I have learned of advanced software programs, that his eye movements would be digitally monitored and serve as a "mouse" for certain functions of the suite, like targeting and such. Otherwise, Tony would have to verbally tell Jarvis what to make the suite do, which would create a delay in the execution of the suite's functions. I am not formally educated on such things, though. If it works differently, I would love to know how. :)

I always assumed it was like, a pinhole camera in each eye.
The only issue I ever saw with that, an EMP would cause him to "BE BLIND", in a sense.

But none of Tonys enemies had the intelligence to make an EMP weapon...... (the idiots)

Whoa, when I said the eyes are too small, I meant to small in comparison to other helmets.
A bit difficult to set up the eyes with LEDs and all.
There is not much room left under it to make a slit.
I think I'll do indirect lighting set up for this one.

The Mk42 is Labsic's. That was one of the first Mk42 helmet ever posted in RPF, IIRC. So does the Mk39.

Talking about the tech stuff, I think Tony's working more on brainwaves, rather than physical eye tracking (although the movie indicated that the HUD somewhat tracked his eye. Tracking the brainwaves gives faster response. It'll also explain how the speaker was OFF when Tony's talking to Jarvis, or ON when he talk to someone else outside the suit.

Batman had EMP rifle.......
So if we do Batman vs. Iron Man thing, he'll win. Yay Batman....

LOL! Yay, Bat-man! :) I'm sorry if I implied a critique to your statement... I understood what you meant, but I have Asperger's, and my mind jumps rapidly from one idea to the next... and that is why I love pickles!

LOL
Sorry.
I have been watching Star Wars vs Star Trek, superhero vs another superhero, lately.
When EMP being mentioned, my mind just jumped into it, yet this is Iron man thread.
Nananananananana-Batman!

No seriously, Tony would've thought of electromagnetically shielding his suit in the first place.
Batman would've hacked Jarvis. It'll be easier to do so.
Why? Even the SHIELD agent can break into Tony's house.

PS: I learned something new today, Asperger.

Got my superglue, hopefully I can finish the helmet soon.
