Has the Boba Helmet been ID’d? Both his and the blue Mando looked like Black Series helmets to me, but I’m not a pro helmet spotter I just got a feeling. I’ve seen it speculated that they used BS helmets for some of the stormtroopers (maybe the piked ones?) from season 1.

I read somewhere that BS helmets were based on the symmetrical Rogue One stormtroopers so my guess is Lucasfilm already had the design from Rogue One. And no I don't think Boba Fett's helmet has been ID'd but it looked small to me so maybe you're right.

The blue helmet above (Axe, I think his name is?) and all the Death Watch helmets are cast from the Sideshow ROTJ Lifesize bust helmet. Legacy made the prototype for Sideshow so they had molds. The tiny turn signals, size, and overall shape are dead give aways.

As for the new Boba (or Vanth) helmet, it’s a little weirder. The Hero helmet doesn’t appear to be the Sideshow helmet to my eye. If it is? It was modified a good bit. I think Legacy could have either used it as a base or have been supplied a different helmet and they did a digital scan and re-render to tweak it.

The stunt helmet, also seen in the net in chapter 10, looks to be the Sideshow helmet. Look at the smaller turn signals and overall shape.

Keep in mind the Black Series came out in May this year. They were filming over a year ago, and in production months before that. The Stormtrooper helmets would make sense to me, but it is very unlikely you’ll ever see a Black Series Boba in this show.

Oh I see. Thanks. So they're using boba-type helmets for other mandalorians, therefore the "boba-type helmet" is not exclusive to Boba Fett in the star wars universe. If anything, it's pretty standard among Mandalorians, right? I mean it's the only design I've seen used by different characters (and I'm not taking into account the animated series).

That's exactly what I needed to know cause I have a Rubies Deluxe BF helmet waiting for me to repaint it, which is surprisingly good shape-wise but the paint is horrible. But these blue guys gave me a new idea... So I might repaint the BS boba fett helmet for screen accuracy and repaint the Rubies Deluxe as a blue mandalorian helmet. (Right?)

Yeah, Boba's helmet is the standard and most common male Mandalorian helmet style in the universe. Even the ones worn by Death Watch members in The Clone Wars and members of Clan Wren in Rebels were based on the design, with occasional slight design changes (like removing the rangefinder). That style was really the only one that existed until they introduced the alternate male helmet style with Mando himself.

Female Mandalorians obviously have their own distinct look, but as you can see with Bo-Katan and Koska Reeves, there are slight variations in that style as well.

What's with the large seamline on the Stormtrooper helmets?

It kind of has the chibi look like the Mattel doll version. It reminds me of the concept art of The Child. The real one is a little, uglier? In a loveable adorable way.

I agree, but I don’t mind the cutesy look for the $20 Hasbro version. $160? Rubies is just grifting as always.

Oh yeah for $20 the doll was a no brainer, I think I’m going to end up trying to make mine a little more accurate just as a cheap project.

Actually you can get it for $18 at Best Buy. Amazon had it at that price, but it has since gone up.

(Edit, I just noticed this has already been posted in the darksaber reference thread.)

This is definitely the Mandalorian version design.

Looks a little on the small side though, the hilt I mean.
