Mandalorian Reference Thread

I would bet that might be a stunt version with the gloss coat vs the more metallic one seen on the show as the hero version

Great thread so far. Loving this show.

I've made a start on the ingot and pistol. For the ingot, I'm trying a few different avenues and will be casting in aluminum once I'm happy with it. (Currently talking with a foundry.) I used a method similar to photoscanning to transfer details from the screen prop directly, much as I've done before on Marvel props... just tinkering with how much relief to give it. (Filling in with a wash, then several layers of clear to get a smooth finish is one way to do it.)

I thought about dipping it, since I've done a bit of that before, but even with a custom pattern it would be hard to get a consistently identical pattern over several copies because once the pattern film dissolves it starts to expand in the water, and the lines on the ingot are very sharp and thin. Laser engraving is an option, but costly. Also tinkering with a few ideas are stencils and decals.

The Mandalorian Speeder Driver Goggles (Bert from The Big Bang Theory) Identified

These Googles jumped straight out at me when I was watching episode 1 as Roy roygilsing had asked me last week to do some unrelated goggle hunting for a project he was working on... talk about timing lol!!

WW1 German Flying Goggles

517.jpg

These Goggles were issued by the flying school at Döberitz.

The military training Doeberitz, also known as Army School Döberitz or Infantry School Döberitz from 1910 also Fliegerschule Döberitz Royal Prussian Flying Corps, was an important military training ground in Dallgow in Berlin and one of the largest of its kind.

It served to troops training of the army, to Unteroffiziers and officer training and the training of pilots and the testing of new aircraft.

Jumped on the Beskar train myself. Here is a quick test print. I ran into some issues with warping and shifting but gave it a test paint up anyways.

I have since completely redone the model with a few different textures and a more accurate stamp. Will be printing these out soon, hopefully with less layer issues!

Paint was matte black primer, graphite rub, and Tamiya Chrome silver drybrushed on top.

These definitly all come form the same mold. You can see a couple little blobs to the bottom right of the Empire symbol that look kind of like stamp overflow, and its exactly the same on each one in the group shot. They also all appear to have identical surface warping, based on how the light is hitting each one.

I'm working on the blaster. It's getting there I think.

the pics you are working from for that are mirrored (a lot of the ones on a google search are and match your pic). The side rod (which is a cleaning rod on the original Bergman No.1) is on the other (left) side of the gun. Have a look at the Forgotten Weapons video Ian did on the No.1. It shows alot of detail of the base gun and how it goes together.

I went ahead and made my own Beskar Steel bar. Not my best work and I still need to clear coat it but I am pleased with it.
