Making the Lost Room bus ticket

Good call on the font. I'll play around with it when I recreat the file of my ticket. I'll use my printed ticket for my RPG and keep working on this. :)

Fantastic. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I think the "Yucca Transport" font is "Wide Latin".

At least, it looks pretty close to me.

Here's the weathered version of the ticket. I used Jmtwo's photo above as the base.

Looks pretty cool... why is the ticket weathered but not the bus?

I want to print one of these up for display with my key as well, thanks to Sulla and Jmtwo for taking this on and to everyone else who's contributed.

I've seen many fonts in my life and have a vast collection of it. The font which says "Yucca Transit Lines" is the same used on the dollar bills.
Take a look at www.dafont.com, you'll find a free one for it.

I just dinked around with the fonts a bit. Sulla and Franz Bolo have done the majority of the work on this.

All thanks go to them.

Franz, your ticket is looking great with the weathering.

Here is what it would look like with the bus weathered.

To me the bus doesn't look weathered. I'm just playing around with this prop in my free time. Sulla was the one to get it started so he should get credit.

I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything, but I think that the font I found is closer than the one that's currently on there. I'm not trying to make you folks do all the work or anything...if someone could send me a higher-resolution ticket (if one exists?) I would be glad to put the alternate font in there.

I think the ones in the thread are the highest res we have right now. Which font are you looking at?

Similar, but not quite right. At least the one I found called UnitedStates. I ran through Identifont but couldn't come up with a good match for YTL.

Oh, I don't dispute that. The fonts I used on my ticket were just the ones I pretty much already had on my PC. I did all my work on this version of the ticket in one day trying to get a passable ticket done for a RPG game based on the show (which went over very well with the props I had made for it.)

I am terrible at hunting down fonts, so if anyone wants to try to get some good ones, I'd be more than happy about that. :lol

I will be revisiting this prop hopefully sometime next month. I am finishing up some blank grail diaries for some RPFers and a TOS communicator kit I just got from Rodd.com. I did get to introduce The Lost Room to a friend tonight and saw a few things that need to be changed on my ticket as well as what's been presented here by all the helpful advice folks have posted.

Here's a pic of the ticket I used for my game: A finished 'better' version of the Show prop is definately needed, but this served as a nice place holder in my game.

Packard Antique, which you can see here previewed with some of the text from the ticket: Packard Antique

So, is there a show accurate (or close enough) version of this fantastic artwork ready yet?

I finally got my clock (still have to change the color) and with the room key, the bus ticket would be a great addition.

Keep up the great work, Andy..

I finally got around to finishing up one of these.

Everything including the weathering is printed on 110lb cardstock, then punched and taped.

Not that I have seen. I am still panning on picking my version back up right after April is over

You da man, Andy. If the ticket is even half as good as your grail diary inserts, it'll be well worth the wait :thumbsup
