Making of Star Wars

Went back again yesterday and shot more. Again, sorry about the glare, but that can't be helped.

Saw both the hardcover and paperback. The PB lacks the last chapter with storyboards that include alternate endings. Not sure if that's really anything new or not. Depending upon your budget, either would make a nice addition to your collection.

Wow, that pic of Vader is pretty cool.

Thanks Probe Droid for the preview, def looking forward to this book.

:thumbsup

Thanks for that Vader pic.

Can't wait to get this book. Both this book and the Art of Ralph McQuarrie will be out around the same time, double whammie on my credit card. :D

I wasn't even thinking about buying this book until seeing all these great pics coming out. Now I can't believe I didn't want it before. Thanks for the the reviews.

OMG. that's awesome, they were thinking of using flash lights as lightsabers. :lol

Ok, I've got to get this book now. :D

Thanks for the book preview, again.

Eager to see those concept lightsaber photos.

Q: any other photos of Solo's blaster?

I'm still waiting for my review copies from the publisher. :angry I thought they'd be waiting for me Monday when I got back to my office after the con, but no trace. Nudged the publicist yesterday, and he swears he'll get them to me ASAP. I can give more details once I have it in my hand.

The flash light lightsabers are reflected in most of the early concept art with luke/han, darth, and stormtroopers.

the mcquarrie concept action figure of the stormtrooper includes the flashlight inspired lightsaber and a light shield.

After looking at a lot of concept art over the years, I wish they went with some of the concept designs.

The flashlight idea though, not so much

Great pics, thanks.

Finally a shot of the guts of Vaders saber...

Interesting though, I'm noticing these blades look round..not triangular as I'd always heard.

So they actually built up some "laser swords"... funny.

Yep, same here. The pics have definitely pushed me to pre-order this. Looks awesome.

I've said it before, you could add 7 black grips to a Mag-Light flashlight and add it to your collection and most common/average people would not even realize that's it not 'movie accurate'. It's all shiny metal tubes with grips to them.
