Making of Star Wars

I'm amazed that 30 years later, previously unseen photographs continue to be uncovered. [/b]

You have no idea. There is SOOOO much stuff still unseen. They have still and set photographers and their job was to do nothing but take pics of the productions. There had to be hundreds of pics taken daily. This along with pre-production art, storyboards, still, contact sheets, matte paintings, etc. Soooo much stuff. Granted, more Star Wars stuff has been made public than any of the Indy films, so I am personally waiting VERY patiently for the Making of Raiders book which will most likely be due out in 2008 with the release of Indy 4.

And the best price is found where? Amazon is asking $47.25 which is cheaper than chapters.ca $64.02. Anyone find better?

So this is what happened to 'The Jackson Five' after Micheal left. :D

I remember back in the mid-90s, in the LFL website's available jobs section, they posted that they were looking for an archivist who could shoot pics of new stuff but primarily to go through old negatives and prints, scan them in and catalogue them. Since then I had assumed that that process had since been applied to everything they'd ever shot. I guess whoever got that job got bogged down in documenting prequel stuff or something.

There's just sooo much to sift through. Heck, when they moved offices to the Presidio, they apparently uncovered some pretty amazing (to us nutjobs) stuff. It's just what happens over 30 years with storage tech of data, personnel changes, building moves to contend with.

LOL. seriously though after seein that TD pic, who knows.

wish there was just a version you could buy and DL to have the pics on the PC. :(

Saw the book today at NY Comic Con. Very nice book, but not a lot of trooper pix beyond those already posted, except for a pic of the Tks accompanying Vader in the "you are part of a rebel alliance and a traitior" scene without their helmets.

Great pix of the ANH OWK/DV duel sans FX. I tried taking pix from the book, but doing micro pix in the middle of a con isn't so easly. Will post ASAP.

BTW- does anyone else find it kinda silly that almost half the avatars used by members in this particular thread are Vader?
[/b]

Err..No. I don't think it's silly ;)

Excellent trooper pics. Can't wait to pick up a copy of this book... looks excellent, and hopefully the additions they make to the ESB and ROTJ 'Making Of' books will be equally great :thumbsup

Now, where there any pics of Carrie Fisher getting 'gaffer taped' ? :love

Cheers,
John
