Mad Max: Fury Road

I guess you're right. I might have the pan and scan version, which crops the sides.

I wonder the same thing. It's a field of grass. You'd see their tracks.

And how does max drive a standard with that knee?

He's Max. He grits his teeth, splints it with a shifter ( or an adjustable wrench for those who call it by weird names) and gets the job done!

Thanks for that. Where's it from?

Mad Max Movies points out some trivia on the car.

Can the "Mad Max" interceptor be the same as the "Mad Max 2" interceptor if they have different Weiand blowers? Check the number of bolts on the little wheel in both films. Also check the front plate, vintage plate in Mad Max, standard in MM2. Scott injector is real in MM, but a custom / replica piece in MM2. Blower was also mounted higher in MM2, you can see the bottom, in MM it was only 1/2 to 3/4 out of the hood. Also of note, the exhaust system on the car is different between the first film to the second - the 'zoomie' pipes are not the same - no trumpeting. (Note that the blower change, etc is actually because of the car being for sale between the two films, see the sub-page). Also the car in Mad Max has a white interior, for MM2 it is black.

Mad Max 2 / The Road Warrior - Flubs, Goofs & Trivia

i thought the Falcon was an auto :-/

All the cop cars were automatics, except the Black on Black. The real car was a hi performance special that didn't offer an auto. Back then 'real men had sticks'.

Pleasure, After reading it, thought it had some good stuff worth posting. It came from a local magazine.

Hate to nit pick such a superb replica but it suffers from an issue ive seen on nearly all repros, the base of the SC switch is black instead of the silverish finish on the original. Small thing but when you go to so much trouble.... They only came in black so i guess no one thinks to spray them, they sprayed a lot of stuff silver on that movie.

As a youngling, seeing a switch on the gearstick that made the car go really fast was always my initial fav bit of the car, so much so i made a replica a couple of years ago. The boot still needs replacong.

I like that dune buggy, but I see they updated the future. Dune buggies back then were VW based, while today they have big V8s and huge tires.

I hope the two fuel tankers in the pic have nothing to do with the stotyline. Dr Miller isnt going to give us another "2" is he?

EDIT

Fair dinkum, if George takes us any further into the Wastelands, this will be the next BoB (Brown on Brown)

Im a huge carnut. I can remember seeing a pic of the RW one with the twin tanks all mangled just sitting somewhere. It was in a magazine. My one hope for the film is 0 CGI and some killer driving along the MM , original gone in 60 seconds and Two Lane Blacktop. CGI cars and chases are the worst.

Yeah, CG cars? That would go against the whole ethos Miller established with MM. That movie actually felt dangerous (of course there's the famous "head smacked by bike" scene so I guess it was). It was so visceral in large part because it was so clearly real. When the camera's mounted on the bike and we see the needle creeping up to 90...exhilarating.

Road Warrior has been on for the past few days on AMC. I had the guys at work watching it, they were puzzled at a few parts lol

I don't understand cgi cars. I mean, there are no dinosaurs or starships, so you need to make them. But there are Millions of cars out there! Maybe Billions!! You don't need to fake it!
For the price of cgi you could make the safest stunt car on the planet.

One of the best stunts anywhere is in RR when the biker hits the car and somersaults overtop! He was just supposed to fly over, but hit his foot and cartwheeled. Broke his leg I think.

I saw an article somewhere with Dr Miller saying that the budget for this movie will allow him to keep cgi in the major action scenes to a minimum, so it may not be all bad news when it comes to that aspect.

His foot didn't get hit during the stunt. They had boxes in the base of the ditch and, instead of landing in the centre, he flew more to the side and missed most of the boxes. That's how he broke his leg. They talk about it in the making of documentary.

Actually reqally lucky considering that he could have missed the boxes completely.
