I guess if you choose not to install electronics then it’s effectively a static. It’s nice to have the choice though, as personally I will be installing it.

I'll be stopping by the shop later today or tomorrow morning. I'll take some new pics. Should be able to show off an assembled (mostly) hilt.

Stopped by the shop, but the activation boxes were half done and grips are still at the anodizers. So I didn't take pics, sorry.
From the looks of everything this will still be ready to ship next week. Grips should be back Tuesday and then they need to be "turned" again to remove some of the anodizing. Once the grips are in I'll take pics, even if the grips are still completely black.

If I remember correctly the lower half is nearly 30mm ID. Other than that I don't recall other measurements ATM, but I believe that's the important one.

Definitely behind schedule, but not too far off. It's the little details that have really slowed this down. Here's a pic from this morning. Anodized grips arrived late Friday. IDK, maybe 1 more week? :confused
