Luke's Lightsaber Mando series finale.

I would be surprised if the used an LS6, for practice purposes. There's so much going on in that hilt, reveal wise, it seems like for the purposes of making a practice stunt, it be easier for the crew to just machine their own hilt.

I’m thinking the same thing, just curious about where the LS6 thing even got started.

Somebody who owns an LS6 said HAY IT'S AN LS6 I HAVE ONE OF THOSE YAY!

That's the level of provenance research on FB groups. It's "I want this to be true so I will say it is."

Korbanth does great work, but the tells are always very obvious as they are built for specific purposes-- namely being entry level FX sabers or reveal shelf-queens. I'm not disparaging them, I have a couple of his hilts-- but they would not meet the standards of what production requires any more than Disney produced consumer level products.

I figured as much. Hoping we get a solid look at the stunt during the gallery special come Christmas.

Keep looking at those arrows, them not lighting up isn’t the only interesting thing
i blew this up a little and tried to show how "perfect" a match this is

The spacing between the black buttons are perfect matches and the buttons themselves except for the screen cap shows they are weathered or rounded off a little. My one question is were the Rylo buttons delron or metal? could be light reflection off the buttons but can't tell for sure if that is exposed metal on the black buttons themselves.

Hmm well, I guess after he threw it away before being fried by palatine maybe he made another new new hero saber.

maybe he’ll throw this one away and make a creepy uncle for sequels. Hah
Heh, this was my thought seeing the "true hero" debate over the v1 and v2, but then I noticed he had the v2 on his belt when he returned to Endor and greeted Han and Leia, so I guess he picked it up...though it doesn't mean it was still functional.

The canon story in the Battlefront 2 game, has him using the V2, though how much stock you want to put into that mattering is up for personal choice.

The buttons on Rylo's saber are aluminum

It’s certainly very similar to the Rylo reveal saber, then again the Elstree reveal was a big deal when it first popped up. There are quite a few possibilities as to what this saber may be. Let‘s not engage in confirmation bias.
yep, you're exactly right. It's easy to get excited about things. Like archaeology though, when you find pieces of a puzzle that fits, it's nice to celebrate little discoveries but if your zeal is too much, it could send you down the wrong path to the wrong conclusion. I will try to temper my enthusiasm...lol. We should continue digging though..no digging, no finding. Digging usually is not fun but in this case, it is.

CopperRevan, Enthusiasm is great, and it would be a real treat for owners of Rylo’s excellent reveal saber to be able to christen them as 100% screen accurate to a cannon Star Wars production. Not to mention another feather in the cap of our own Rylo. Don’t lose any enthusiasm due to my words of caution. Dig on.

Thanks man..I've never had a Rylo but for some reason, now i want one lol. Yes, i agree 100%. Would be super happy for Rylo himself and for owners of it to be blessed by that. For me, i have nothing to gain( totally blessed by Luke's appearance and greenie alone) except that it was my first instinct when i freeze framed it because of the box that stood out to me, that it "could" be a Rylo. In the long run, nobody is gonna care about "who" was right because all of us are on the same team here and we all love Star Wars and Lightsabers and its that passion that keeps the flame alive and anyways the "Yuma" is my personal favorite anyway...but i'ma keep diggin..lol

If it helps, it was really difficult to force myself to put those vinyl arrows on the control box. There sat this bad-ass functional aluminum and brass prop (Elstree Reveal) and then there were those vinyl arrows just taunting me.

But, the goal was to replicate the Elstree 'exactly' as it was. I really wanted those arrows to be something more but understood why they weren't. There was just no room left in the control box. So, I stuck to the plan to keep everything identical; no liberties were taken.

I believe the Elstree arrows were just cut corners of colored electrical tape. It's not like anyone was laser cutting when that thing was made. I experimented with the tape idea and noticed I was getting the same elongated arrows present on the prop while trying to keep the tip sharp. Once comfortable with the cut, I scanned them and had them cut in vinyl. Again, intentionally replicating the elongated look.

Again, for what it's worth. Not sure if that's what you're referring to. The placement of the arrows and screws are also rather tight compared to other ROTJ sabers. It does break canon a bit. The Elstree is funky!

Haven't given my thoughts yet and have been perusing this thread but just gotta say the second I saw the saber closeups in the episode I thought "Ooh, did they change it again?" and knew there was gonna be an RPF thread. You guys work fast, gotta say it looks a LOT like Rylo's hilt. I do hope we get better looks and info in the making of to confirm it (or not)

Also, never really was in love with the Hero design, I used to like it, then I found out about the V2 and really liked the gritty look and that it was the one used for most of the movie but after the Mando cameo, its officially my favorite design for Jedi Luke's saber and I started looking for a metal replica or at least something close and I think I'm gonna grab an LS6 and do some minor mods to get it closer to what we see with the Mando Luke.

Anyway, loving this thread so far and it feels fun to have a saber mystery to be solved and exact details to be hunted for after the Sequels mostly scratch built all their hilts.
