Limited Run Luke V2 liightsaber (Second Run) Sign up thread

I wish I would have seen this. Please add me to the list if anyone backs out! I would love to have one of these!

Hi everybody!

I still have a few clamp levers left in stock but I have a new batch on its way!
As you can see in the second post in this thread, they are very accurately modeled based on the real prop.

You can get them here:

Saddly, I have to wait till I get paid tomorrow. But I'll be ordering! Everything I've gotten from you is second to none, in both quality & accuracy. So I will definitely be adding this to the stock.

Thanks very much for the reminder! Just sent an order off your way.

Dan, I messaged you about my username change, but obviously I'm back to Mold Maker, so no worries there. Still very excited for this saber. :)

Thanks #108 . Looking forward to your skillfully produced Hilt

Newbie question -- what will i need to screw all the saber parts together? a piece of threaded rod? Will all the parts be pre-tapped? any advice welcome.

They don't screw together they are held together with set screws, you will need a 5/8ths set screw sleeve for the rod. Here are the links for both the set screws sleeves and the mystery chunk in different steels. I recommend 18-8 stainless or plain steel for the mystery chunk. The place for this chunk is not pre drilled or tapped, you will have to do that yourself, I recommend buying a tap in the thread size of the mystery chunk.

I ordered all of them to see which one looks the closest to the color of the saber. I also ordered set screw sleeves to keep the emitter and bearing on, here is the link for those if you are interested.

Unrelated but does anyone think it's weird how both Obi-wan and Luke hold the saber so low in the grip as opposed to the grip area?

I've got a Luke ROTJ and an Obi-Wan, and I think balance wise where they hold it is spot on. Where the 'grip' is, is way too high IMHO, but that's just me!

Always wondered. as the balance would be off for wielding.

That may be because the prop lightsaber they are wielding while shooting has steel or fiberglass blade. The weight of the blade will shift the center of mass toward the a high point in the hilt, away from the grip.

In addition to the weight a comfortable position in the lightsaber may not be where the grip was supposed to be because of placement of certain ornamental pieces like switch cover-tech or other design elements

Also some sabers are quite fat like graflex and unless ones hand is large it may be uncomfortable to hold the "grip" with manh actors hands being small.
